Your use of the word literally is horrible here, considering he took a floundering USC team and made them capable again. His time at Ole Miss was terrible, that's well understood, but that was over a decade ago. The administrative side of running a program just doesn't scare me with him, the changes he's made have been overwhelmingly positive and efficient.
The biggest question with Orgeron is his game planning and in-game coaching ability. For that reason, this isn't just another game. You're about to witness his coaching ability be tested to the fullest. If he fails at it, he won't be hired. You should be happy about this little revelation, because the flip side is the admin probably feels like if he can't win with this team then he never will and it's worth looking at other options.

Then you better start a gofundme to pay Saban or Meyer 15 mil a year because that's true of any other head coach. Jimbo looks like hot dog shite with top 5 classes because he fought to retain a bad DC, and he would be considered our best hire by a long shot at this point.

Agreed, my only point is I think LSU is in a good position either way and everyone should chill...
If O gets the job, he will have earned it and he definitely has potential and resources in place to keep the program moving forward and up.
If O doesn't get the job, LSU will have a number of potential head coaches that could come in and have success here.
I'm sure my opinion will intensify as this plays out, but I think people overreacting one way or another at this point is just premature.

Same could be said for Fleck. He has built a program, but he has never been a coordinator. He is similar to CEO in the fact that he is a position coach who is a great recruiter and motivator. He relies heavily on his coordinators. Personally I don't have a problem with it.

Saban himself is nobody without #1 recruiting class year after year so if O can beat him in recruiting that is what you need.

I think the point of view that is being opposed is the idea we should make a riskier hire because he loves LSU or because he is from Louisiana. That desire is what has ruined programs around the country in the past. Great programs from Alabama and Michigan to Nebraska and USC have suffered through a lot of terrible hires because they reached for a person with prior ties to the school instead of looking for the best coach available.

Yall realize that even Saban in his 5 seasons at Michigan State only won more than 7 games one time in 5 years.
Coach O's first chance at being a HC was at a program who hadn't won a conference title in 50+ years and was towards the bottom of the SEC west most years. First time head coach in a very difficult conference/division with a team that wasn't very good before he took over. Doesn't mean he hasn't grown as a coach and couldn't have success now.

he's now had 6 number 1 classes in a row.
thats an impossible number, you simply can not do that without cheating in every way imaginable.
in 9 seasons at USC, Carrol had a total of 2 number 1 classes.
in 6 seasons at Florida, Urban had 2. hes never had one at Ohio State.
Miles had 1 (2009).
so saban has had more consecutive number 1 classes than Carrol, Meyer, and Miles ever had combined.
