Mike Leech's tweet about Obama speech cost WA State $1.6MM in donations. Any chance we will now see him in the SEC?

He just cost his U. 1.6 mil by saying something not PC. As much as most like his musings. I doubt an SEC school can afford to tick up some future benefactors.I

Easily offset by the revenue he brought in by getting Washington State (!!!!!) to 9-1

Not next year. Barry Odom saved his job (again). Luke still gets another year.
Auburn is unlikely to fire Gus, and if they do I doubt they go after Leach
Muschamp has done well enough he ain't gone either
Only way he comes to the SEC this year is if someone leaves for a different job.
Only one that might do that is Stoops, that's a BIG might. And if some job opened up that he wanted, we'd likely get Neal Brown.
I want Leach in the SEC too. But I don't see it, at least not for next season

Probably not. SEC is incestuous and loves retread coaches.

Leach to Ole Miss would be heartbreaking. I like him too much to have him in LSU’s division.

If Leach leaves, it won't be because of that.
Leach loves building his Cougar Calves walking all over Pullman.
He's an eccentric guy but he is beloved on the Palouse and the feeling is mutual.
I don't get the feeling he's the kind of coach who needs to fill the trophy case to be happy.
Not saying he'd never leave but as long as his job is secure it's hard for me to see him bolting.

he would have been the tennessee coach this year had their president not nuked the deal.

If it ever happens, I think it would be at Mizzou or Kentucky. He did quite well with Tim Couch at Kentucky.
For some reason, I don't see him feeling comfortable in the Deep South.
The Big 12 and Pac 12 are best fits for his scheme and personality.
It's hard to put Leach in a category. He really is a unique fellow. One reason he works so well at Wazzu is they were more than willing to give him the time and space to do his thing. Just needs to pump the brakes on reposting doctored political videos. Gotta love that the media is trying to hype that storyline now that Leach has his team on the verge of a division title and more. Honestly I think they may just be trying to troll him into saying something more about it.

I was hoping odom would shite the bed and they could make a play for Leach.
If you were going to be looking for a coach in the SEC, this is the year, only 1 or 2 at most programs looking for a coach, if that. ZERo competition from other programs in SEC for a coach, with everyone staying put.

Even SEC college campuses are some of the most PC places in the country.
I remember Miss State tweeting about the faculty standing in solidarity with those who request MS change the state flag after the shooting in SC.

He has probably made way more than that for them by, you know, winning games these past few years.

The same tweet at an SEC school might have got the school 5 million in new donations

Eastern Washington is very GOP. Missouri or ole miss make the most sense for leach if they make a change next year. Going from the safe alum hire to wildcard in leach

What does one have to do with the other?
There is no way anyone can know if what he said about Obama had any impact on donations. It is easy for someone to say after the fact. "oh I was going to donate this if the coach hadn't said what he did. I was offended so I didn't donate" You can say that after his comments and the words are hollow because there is nothing factual behind them. It also said in the story about this that no one asked to have their donation returned after his comments. Because of this I am led to believe that the entire story is bullshite.
