Him and Mayo should have never been offered the jobs to begin with. Davis should own the mistake like Kraft did. Hopefully Brady can add some helpful insight to the coaching search and finally find a good coach. This franchise has been in turmoil for years

Pierce was hired because the players wanted him. S usually not a good idea to let players hire their boss. Just sayin

Mark Davis looked around his own division, and saw Andy Reid, Jim Harbaugh, and Sean Peyton.
For some reason he thought, “I need to hire Antonio Pierce to compete against those legends”.

They could hire PrimeTime and then have his kid refuse to sign with any team in front of them in the draft (like Eli)
Would fit both the organizations and the Sanders mentality perfectly.

I wonder why he and Mayo were hired?

Antonio Pierce was the classic “interim does well in a lost season” hire. He took over for McDaniels and evened them out that year, but then tanked his first year as a full coach and they pulled the plug rather quickly, I think in part bc the Pats were willing to do so to Mayo
Mayo was hired because Kraft has a weird vendetta against BB and thinks of Mayo as a second son and seemingly thought his selection was a religiously correct one. Mayo was clearly not ready for the job, and they had more info than anyone that it would be the case. But Kraft thought the last 20 years were due to him and Brady and any coach could come in there and win. It quickly blew up in his face and thankfully he didn’t let it continue further

But Brady has been in touch with Belichick recently as the Raiders weighed the future of head coach Antonio Pierce, who was fired on Tuesday after going 4-13 in his lone season as the full-time head coach. Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls together with the Patriots, and sources say Brady believes the situation in Las Vegas requires a coach of Belichick's expertise and stature to establish a sustainable winning program.

Multiple NFL teams have inquired about whether legendary coach Bill Belichick would reconsider his move to college football -- including the Las Vegas Raiders, whose new minority owner Tom Brady spoke recently with his old coach about what it would take to make a reunion happen in Las Vegas, per sources.
