Sounds like ol' Jimmy told them "hey, just call me and I'm there" lol.
Wonder how many other P4 schools he had lines out to?

He played and spent additional years as a coach right next door up in South Dakota St. so maybe this was a chance to “get back close to home” for him.
Understandable in that case …but as others have mentioned, I too feel really bad for Wazzu.
Wazzu and Oregon State took a serious beating from the fallout of conference musical chairs.

Maybe go after Jason Candle?
Toledo has the most resources in the MAC, which allows Candle to succeed with an advantage. But he doesn't have the success he should have. He would not do good in an Iowa State situation, where he had the LEAST resources among his competitors.
He is not well thought of as a coach.

Brian Kelly. Top of the list. Quality coach, driven, head in the game, would fit into the state of Iowa like a glove.

Send his soft, paper arse to IOWA. He'd cry in that cold!!
You may not be aware of this, but Kelly has only coached up north. Which is really cold

I don’t know about the second part but the first part is very close to the truth.
Jamie Pollard and Rogers were paired up at some NCAA thing in Texas a few years ago and Rogers straight up asked Pollard what he had to do to become the ISU HC. This was when Rogers was at SDSU, Pollard said move up to bigger schools and continue to prove yourself.
When Roger’s went to WSU, he told Pollard it was on his advice. When Pollard called Rogers he (Rogers) didn’t even listen to the salary and said yes.
