Terrible fit. They needed someone who would come in and recruit well in texas/louisiana at least. With the west being as strong as it is and A&M moving in and winning this hire stinks for Arkansas.

if there isn't a big HS coach you can possibly get, frick it...see if you can hire applewhite. he can't feel safe at UT right now long-term. he may jump at a shot at OC again (not being under saban would help)

Mario Cristobal is available, and considering Wisky fired their OL coach and replaced him with a GA in the first week of the season, I'd say he's not bringing that guy with him to Arky.

This is a horrible hire, he's bringing the same offense to the west that LSU and Bama is currently implementing, Bama and Lsu will always get the players, BB won't, bad hire.

Wisconsin's traditionally been a power run/stout defense team. Let me see ... aren't there some teams in the SEC West that operate from the same philosophy? One in Louisiana, one in Alabama I believe.

Strong hire for Arky in my opinion.

You act like we would get the players if we had a different system. We didn't get the players with the high powered offense.

You can run that offense with most players. See Leach at TTU and Sumlin at Houston. You can't run the power running game without good Oline and top RBs and be successful going against SEC defenses. Just won't happen.

I don't know enough to say he is a good hire or bad, but turmoil or coaching changes, etc. have kept Michigan, Penn St. and Ohio St. down from what they have been historically in recent years. We will see.

if i was an arkansas fan i dont really think i would be bragging about 3 straight rose bowls when pumping up BB. 2 in a row maybe, but in no way would i be bragging about this year.

We led the league in rushing most of Nutts years here. You can run the ball at Arkansas. Hopefully BB can get better QB play and get the defense rolling.

He inherited a 10 win team and kept them stagnant in the worst big 10 league in the history of the big 10, and he can't recruit. No ties to the south or Texas either. He also will have to build the offense from the ground up, which seems impossible due to his recruiting abilities...
He might be a good coach but this just seems like a terrible fit.

this. everyone acts like Wisky was in the dumpster. They had been built up and from afar, they seemed to have regressed, esp with the constant grabbing of 5th yr QB's

It could end up working out but to say it's a "great" hire right now.....well that is not smart
