Will Alabama be looking for a new coach if they lose to Auburn?

They will be perpetually looking for a new coach because the Saban and Bryant dynasty is never coming back in the NIL era. They aren’t geographically situated for sustained success.

No, but they will be after '26 if DeBoer fails to make the playoffs for the third year in a row.

Not this year but the Gump hot seat will heat up.

James Franklin was Penn State’s top choice, now it’s DeBoer.

Half of their board wants him fired today.

No, they'll bring saban on as a consultant to debust.... if he's not already.

No.

But it will become very uncomfortable for Deboer if he not only misses the CFP for a second straight year, but allows a bad Auburn team to deliver the knockout blow.

its more about money and boosters than geographical. Alabama is up there with LA in terms of per capita.

I wonder if they'd sort of force him out by getting his agent to go take a look at other jobs. They would not fire him. $61M buyout - not unobtainable, but I doubt Bama boosters are frustrated enough to pay that figure.

Nah. But next year would become playoffs or bust.

How do you see it, how much rope does DeBoer get?

Alabama will always have a lot of talent, but they won't have the same depth of talent. No one will. Bear and Saban stashed studs 3 deep. That world is over, those kids transfer.

Bama fans are so spoiled. Even moreso than LSU. No coach will be acceptable to them until they come to grips with the fact they can't stash talent.
