Formerly the Auburn OC, this guy still brings balance to a pro style offense that impresses me.

Good football coach.I liked him when he was at Auburn. Always has run a good, balanced multiple offense with a power running game and West Coast principles in the passing game. Would be a good hire for someone. He is a California guy so he might like it in San Diego right now, but if given the chance to get back to a BCS school you never know.

Rumor is that Muschamp is looking at him as a possible OC at Florida. I thought that he did a good job at Auburn, but I also believe that he wasn't turned completely loose by Tubs to run his offense.

In hindsight, Auburn firing him was a huge mistake.

He has a rep of not being able to evaluate talent.

It's not a rep, it's a fact.

But dude can coach up an offense. His problem at Auburn was ridiculously bad position coaches and a declining talent level every year.

And Gary Crowton does?

I can't give him credit for Matt Flynn.

Just always liked his style of offense when he has people who can execute is playcalling.

Would mesh well with miles and be a solid chavis like hire. Hopefully will doesn't get him while les has his thumb up his arse waiting on that pile of shite crowton to get another job.

He was not a good recruitor at Auburn. I don't think that he was that involved, I always heard that he didn't like recruiting. Don't know that to be a fact.

Borges was coordinator at UCLA and his offenses there were outstanding. I think he was at UCLA when they won the NC. Auburn went 41-9 while Borges was OC.
I think that Borges would be a great hire at LSU. Borges at LSU with a good quarterback prospect and the receivers that you get would be scary. Borges has been known to develop good college quarterbacks. Look what he did with Cade McKnown at UCLA and what he did with Jason Campbell. Compare Campbell before and after Borges.

wouldn't really him to recruit too much. I pretty much never hear of gary doing any.

so gary doesn't recruit and he's a shitty OC.....definitely seeing why Les hired him.

yea but we gotta wait on poor ol gary to find a job first. Apparently, paying the guy huge amounts of cash to be awful wasn't nice enough.

I wish I could have the job to be LSUs OC. I'd just rip a playbook from NCAA and pick a random play every down.

Can't be much worse.

Crowton is not a good recruiter either, and I don't think he enjoys it. So if Bourges came here, that would still be about the same, though I don't think Bourges can not help but be a little better recruiter than GC. But I think Bourges is a far better OC than Crowton, so the fan base would welcome him here & be very pleased to help GC pack.

Also, I still think Les should have let GC apply for the ULL position--I know, he doesn't want a distraction to bowl preparation. But it's not like GC will be flooded with job offers.
