After watching last night. This is a bigger rebuild than initially thought.

It’s imperative we get a coach as soon as possible. The coach is going to need time to evaluate the current roster, evaluate and recruit the h.s. Guys and evaluate the transfer portal/recruit the portal.

The coach is only going to get two to three years to turn things around before he is fired or extended.

Therefore, you can’t miss this years recruiting cycle.

Agree to disagree.

I think a great head coach could have this exact team at 10-2 or better, even with the clear deficiencies at OL and QB.

Rebuild is obviously a subjective term, and changing HC’s inevitably results in some aspects of rebuilding, but I absolutely do not personally consider the LSU job a “rebuild.”

Auburn is a rebuild. Arkansas is a rebuild. VaTech is a rebuild.

LSU (and I’d even put Florida here) are programs than can absolutely get itself into the playoffs under the right head coach and QB in the next 1-2 seasons.

Nah. It’s the portal era and it’s LSU. With the right coach, it won’t be that hard.

Still need a coach who's in BR in time to prepare and recruit during the portal - which opens and closes during the playoffs this year.

If this team had some semblance of an offense they would have won last night. This is not a terrible team despite what a lot of people seem to think. If a coach can bring in the right pieces, then I see no reason why he can't win right away.

Actually I think the rebuild could be really quick

We have talent it’s just poorly coached talent.

And with the portal and the right coach, you don’t have to rebuild just reload.

Now I would be OK sacrificing the portal this year if that’s what it took to get the right coach. I think that’s better than picking the wrong guy just to beat the portal window.

Of course that may mean some growing pains next year. But long term it’s probably better

LSU will have their coach before January.

Also, if it’s a current HC, he could bring some key pieces with him to help make his 1st year a little easier during the transition. Hell, a current OC could bring a key piece or 2 with him as well.

LSU was unranked last season and is very likely going to be unranked at the end of this season. How is this not a rebuild?

With revenue share do not expect the same talent available this offseason in the portal. It’s a big rebuild for the next HC. Tiger fans generally overrate our talent.

I disagree.

More pieces to the puzzle, but we need an elite QB, & Oline dudes to start off. A combo of high school recruits and the portal is the win-win scenario.

If you made this comment after the A&M game you would have an argument. This game was there to be won and we weren’t far off at least in this game

Florida lost by 31 to Kentucky. Thats a rebuild.

We played our asses off in Tuscaloosa despite our consistent Offensive woes.

We are a lot better off for a new coach then people are giving us credit for

Bama got pressure with 3, it took us blitzing and 7 to get to Simpson. The gap is significant on the lines.

Composite rankings will say talent is not our problem.

You are making my argument for me. We didn’t play well and yet if we were still in the game. We don’t get beat deep at the end of the first half and we are right there. This game was there to be won if we make just a couple of less mistakes and turnovers.

I would add them in there with LSU and Florida. Auburn has a very solid roster. Arguably a top 3 defense in the SEC. They just missing a QB and the right offensive philosophy.

It all comes down to who decides to hit the portal and who stays. Theres definitely going to be some unexpected departures from each team.

Who’s your quarterback for next year?

Don’t know. He’s playing on another team right now, though.
