I've learned not to get too high over a win (Ole Miss) or too low over a loss (Louisville). But, I gotta tell y'all - I along with a ton of other Noles are amazingly frustrated at our D.

When I mentioned in another post that y'all would get frustrated with the OL and zone blocking, I didn't mention the offense because this year is an aberration. In August this D was touted as being the best in the country. Athletic, fast, big, strong, everything you could ask for.

And, they have looked as clueless all year as they did today. The DBs have no idea what coverage they are in, what their assignment is, etc. They are often looking to the sideline and pointing to each other when the ball is snapped.

And, after last season the DC, Charles Kelly, got an extension and a pay raise.

Lot of guesses about what the problem is. No one knows for sure. But, I have come to the only conclusion I can come to: Charles Kelly is not only the DC, he is also the DB coach. The buck stops with Fisher, but the problem starts with Kelly. He is doing a worse job than van Gorder was doing at ND and a worse job than whoever the DC is at Texas.

The good news for you is if you get Jimbo, he'll bring some assistants with him, but Kelly probably won't be one of them.

Of course. Every decent DC he gets leaves for higher pay at SEC schools. 800k is good but not elite. We are paying 500k more. You get what you pay for, Pruitt might still be there if you broke out the check book.

I'll take him and tell him to keep Aranda

He should be cool with that since he went through a similar situation with Miles

Florida State is 7-5 L12 games and is giving up almost 7 yards per play.

No thanks.

Yes.

Not my #1 first choice, but a home run hire if he comes to LSU.

JIMBO SUX

hasn't won any division (4) or conference titles (3) or nattys (1)

cannot develop QB's. only 8 or more palyed pro ball, Fn sux arse. 29 game win streak. how terrible.

ONLY won the sec west every other year he coached at LSU

you think he would bring that clown DC over aranda??

This.

I'd leave the rest of the staff up to him.

I would gladly take this guy back:

Jimbo is a one-frick wonder natty coach. I was glad the Miles firing did not happen last year so that the Fisher deal was off. We may not need his service at LSU ever again.

I want him. Especially with the "keep Coach O" crowd getting louder every time LSU wins. With the defensive coaching and players already in place, Jimbo has every chance to be in the playoffs again in the near future at LSU.

I never did want him. Of course, the idiots that actually do the hiring cannot be trusted (and could very well still have him in the top 3).

So glad Charles stayed. Never thought I would think Steele would be an upgrade.

You don't think a NC winning coach, with a hell of a record the past 4 years deserves to be top 3 on our list?

Let me guess, you in the 'keep coach O' club?
