So he can quit in middle of the season and leave sanctions as a parting gift?

What a clusterfrick by the UT AD. Seriously, what coach are they gonna go out there and get now??

Arkansas and A&M ADs are probably loving this, just making it that much easier to get their pick of the litter.

I hope Schiano makes them honor whatever buyout clause is in the contract I hoped he already signed

I'm sure they could get out if it

If he signed the contract this could cripple them financially.

True, but given the nature of his past... I'm sure they could settle it reasonably

Lemme get this straight.

UT and Schiano both signed a MoU and were poised to introduce him tonight as the HC, the highest paid state employee, with such grossly inept vetting.

A friggin google search would've easily made them aware of his bad baggage at PSU.

Obviously, many Vols fans were even aware of his baggage.

What a shitshow!

No matter how you slice it, the AD is toast.

Bad hire combined with getting cowed by the fan base means no one will take him seriously anymore.

The cherry on top is claiming he was too fricking stupid to vet Schiano’s past before Rutgers. That comment should be enough to terminate hI’m for incompetence.

No way Schiano can still want that job now. They can't just mutually part ways?

Problem is that the false start of him getting Tennessee will set his career back years.

Few if any Power 5 offers will come his way anytime soon unless Franklin leaves Penn State.

You think Penn State is going to hire him?

This looks bad for GS. He may not get another P5 shot because of this. I'd want to get paid now incase future compensation never came to pass.

The cult of JoePa continues there. They are still in denial that anything happened.

Arkansas fired their AD a few days ago so there's that.

I mean, they had to know about this when they backed out. If they owe him a significant amount of money and are backing out anyways, it's probably because they were afraid of losing more by hiring him.

Think again. There is zero evidence that Schiano knew of the Sandusky stuff. All we have is one person who wasn't even on the same staff as Schiano saying he was told Schiano knew, while the person who was on staff with Schiano at the time says that statement is false.

Schiano has done nothing in the last 24 hours to break his contract with UT.

UT will pay Schiano, and they will pay handsomely.
