They're getting their ducks in a row in case we offer Jimbo. They either plan to let him walk, or they have a maximum offer they're willing to match and want to be prepared in case we exceed that number.

And if Jimbo leaves, A&M will NEVER admit to how much they offered, and still got turned down. So it really doesn't matter how big they go.

In your scenarios each coach stayed put. All insiders and people connected with A&M believe that is what will happen here. Jimbo would have to believe within himself that there is some sort of voodoo working against A&M to consider the jump. He can recruit at a&m as well as any program in the country and he is extremely happy with a&ms administration and AD and despite the silliness being reported only on LSU boards he loves college station and is very involved in his cattle business. I guess he could go but that would take an extremely competitive guy deciding he can't get the job done.

LSU has no real need to outbid A&M if they want Jimbo; but LSU could if they wanted. If you look at athletic department revenue generated and raised last year, the two schools are neck and neck. I don't understand where Aggies get the narrative that A&M has infinitely deep pockets. They're still second to U of Texas in total revenue, and Texas hasn't won anything since 2005.

Dude ain't leaving. I'm more inclined to believe CUM is a more realistic candidate than Jimbo. I know he has baggage but that's baggage universities are willing to deal with when he guarantees you championships. Nobody wants him to be likable or our friend. We want to win. The fact his name hasn't popped up more is sketchy to me especially if LSU was keeping their top guy quiet. I know we have the investigations and virtue signaling Democrats to deal with at LSU...but I just can't see how they'd overlook his transgressions to get a guy who would instantly build your program back up to prestige national dominance.

This is the dumbest post ever. I loathe Aggies as much as anyone. They have frick you money. LSU does not.
If Jimbo comes it's because of a raise but he wants lsu more than A&M.
To think we have more money than Aggies is silly. Endowment wise they clean us up and if there were an alumni to $ ratio of both schools available it would be glaring to see how much more money they donate compared to our alumni.
Everything else about Aggies suck the only thing we lose to them on is money.
