Looking like a real possibility that he may end up as Auburn’s DC

That's correct. He didn't.

He's been an outstanding DC in the past. I think he's a good hire. UF had very good defenses with him as the DC.

He’s had some pretty terrible defenders since his one year at Michigan. Here’s some numbers per 247. LINK

But his defense this past season was a bit better. I think he’s considered a good recruiter too, and he has some experience coaching alongside tempo offenses from his time at Ole Miss.

Durkin seems to go light box a lot, so his teams often give up a lot of rushing yards. Lots of quarters and cover 3 coverage. Very little cover 2 or cover 0. He likes to call fire blitzes when he brings pressure so still only five guys rushing the QB.

do you enjoy watching your defense line up with 3 down linemen on obvious passing downs?

what about dropping 260 lb plus DL into zone coverage?

And stunningly after the offense converts, this frickstick is grinning like a moron on the sideline, just like this:

if you're cool with that, go for it.

Durkin ran a 3-2-6 at Ole Miss. it gave the SEC trouble at the time. I am not sure what his latest scheme looks like but it didn’t stop Ole Miss that’s for sure. He was loaded on defensive talent. Granted Jimbo’s offense was so bad the fact that they did as well as they did is probably worth mentioning.

He also gave up 50 points and 700 yards of offense to ark that year as well but he had them rolling at the end of the year.

This scheme at Ole Miss did very well if our offense was clicking and forcing the opposing team pass the ball. But we had a lot of trouble stopping teams from running the ball.

His defense is one reason why Lane kept going for it at really odd times on 4th down. People lost their shite over him going for it on his own 30 yard line early in the game but completely forgot about Bama taking the ball 99 yards for a TD in the same quarter.

Chance Campbell was a HUGE key in defense at Linebacker. Absolutely a difference maker.

He was good at Florida but didn’t run his own defense.
