Incorrect. Nobody on our list, save for Kiffin or Lanning (who isn’t really on the list), would require anything close to what Kiffin would require. Everyone else would almost certainly be hired for less than BK was making

Josh Heupel is also 2-2 vs Alabama in 4 years
Lane is 0-4 against Alabama in 4 years.

Kiffin would be a disaster.

Just like Ed O, would finally have reached the pinnacle of his profession dreams and go off and do a bunch of stupid shite.

Your list completely ignored what Ole Miss was when he arrived. 1I apologize for giving your credit thinking you would understand something that obvious.

Yea, fired BK for only losing to top 10 teams and are going to go bargain shopping. That'll get the fanbase going

I am also in the “why would Kiffin’s come here?” camp. He can go 10-2 the rest of his career and never get fired. These days, NIL sponsors do the recruiting for you. So the only reason I can think of is if our NIL budget is 3x Ole Miss’s budget.

He will play Florida and LSU against each other and then sign a huge extension with Ole Miss and probably admit afterwards what he was doing just to troll us ha ha.

This is why he should be a no go. Being strung along to January and losing out is the worst case scenario. Playing the Kiffin game will end up with James Franklin at LSU.

It appears you have labeled all other coaches on the list as “bargain shopping”. If “money” equaled “winner” then BK would still be our coach.

On this we will have to respectfully agree to disagree.

Kiffin is a solid 9-3 or 10-2 coach. Nothing he has done will show he can win more at this level.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. Whoever we hire, not just Lane, will demand a very large contract. Therefore, using the large contract as a con against Lane is ridiculous.

ETA: And who gives a shite about the money? You aren't paying it. The people that do clearly don't seem to mind dropping tens of millions to do what they think is necessary to win.

Who is your pick then??

Nowadays, you have to have a great quarterback. And a badass defense.

Kiffin has a D3 Qb leading a top 5 team.. he knows how to coach quarterbacks, something we desperately need.

Every coach "can't get it done" until they actually do it. Look at Ryan Day.

There was a plausible reason to think ND was limiting BK, but we now know different. The same can be said about Kiffin: it's plausible that he has taken GTHOM as high as they can go.

However, as of right now, that ceiling plausibly includes the playoff. Ole Miss has South Carolina, Citadel, and Florida at home before visiting State for the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss will be highly favored in each of those games and if they win them all, they are a lock for the playoff, likely a home game (unless they get to the SECCG).

I find it hard to believe that Lane will be likely to leave Ole Miss with that potential to win it all in front of him.

I don't think he's going to either Florida or LSU.

Yet, in the same breath, LSU fans will scream and yell that a $100M contract is "insane" to give any coach.

Kiffin is going to demand somewhere in the neighborhood of $100M total value (which is the more important aspect that the length of years) from anyone who wants to consider him. Whether that is Ole Miss, Florida, LSU, or anyone else.

After that, I'm not really sure who LSU could realistically get that warrants i throwing a massive amount of money at? Particularly coming on the heels of a contract that all of the donors/fans say was, IN HINDSIGHT, horrible.

Who cares what the casual fan here says?

The donors are clearly willing to spend the money, and that kind of money is what it takes to hire an elite level coach. That is all that matters.

Kiffin has some attributes for certain but every season he does, and will continue to, lose games by being arrogant and going for the "flash" putting his team at a disadvantage

I just don't want him because he seems like a selfish, undependable opportunist. I wouldn't trust him to stick around.

Assuming "Laine" is Lane Kiffin, and not a new coach entering the fray, give us a detailed analysis of the comparison of both coaches at the same school, Ole Miss. And, let us know why you don't think Kiffin could exceed Orgeron at LSU.

The question isn’t is Kiffin the best coach in CFB history…..it’s is he the best available. Hes the closest thing to a lock you can get right now and you can expect things to only get better for him at a program with the resources of LSU. Ole Miss should not be as successful as it’s been and it’s because of Lane Kiffin.

Only an idiot would say no.

And I say only an idiot would actually want such a massively arrogant dochebag for their leader at any capacity. This is not a trait found in the greats. E.g.Saban, Bowden, Bryant, Osborne, etc. These types of men may achieve some success short term, but it can only end in disaster.

They will downvote you for this but it's true.
But his daughter goes with an LSU player.
That is why they want Lane so bad.

Other coaches have better resumes but they want Lane because he tweets a lot and his daughter is going with an LSU player.
