If it's true, Raymond is an absolute lock and Joseph is close to a lock as well.

I'd assume the other guy is Faulk, although I could see him having a much shorter rope than the other two.

The guy on the fence would be Davis.

All my opinion, obviously.

Horse shite. You don’t hire a Lincoln Riley or Jimbo Fisher and tell him who he has to retain on his staff.

Jimbo also very easily could sign off on the three. In fact lots of coaches would. Many coaches have tried to steal one of them we know for a fact. Don’t assume.

He’s contradicting himself. Today he says no hire has been made and Jimbo is the back up plan, but we’re going to dictate to Riley, Jimbo or whomever we hire who they have to retain on staff? GMAFB.

Anyone who thinks Kevin Faulk will not be retained is clearly not old enough to remember his contributions to this program in the dark days. He single-handedly "brought the magic back." He could have gone anywhere out of high school but didnt think twice about LSU. Also would have been a legit Heisman candidate if he were on a better team. And instead of leaving for the draft after his junior year, he still came back.

To anyone over the age of 35, dude is as beloved (if not more) than Burrow. I would be shocked (and honestly disgusted) if he got shown the door altogether.

I’ve noticed that. I have a theory.

I think some information dropped and some people are starting to wonder if it was an intentional leak. So they may be backtracking slightly.

Our running backs have been far from spectacular the past two years, but here's why I think Faulk would be the third guy.

1) Recruiting, especially Louisiana guys. We're going to be especially dependent on retaining in state recruits this year given the coaching change.
2) Retaining talent, specifically Sage Ryan (certain assurances may have been made in his recruiting)
3) He's just the RB coach. It's not like that's a super high level position. Also, he hasn't been coaching long, so Woodward could suggest the new coach keep him on a year or two and see if he can coach Faulk up.
4) He's a Louisiana and LSU legend.

Ohhh, he said "guy". At least we now know the new coach won't be female.

Jimbo has gone after both Raymond and Joseph in the past for the same position at A&M
