Looks like it's between FSU and Tenn for Briles

Some say FSU has an edge. They would have co-oline coaches or he would be pushed aside for Clements

I hear he’s picking FSU over the Vols.

We'll see. If Briles falls through I guess Fedora or Sanford would be next on the list

This is believed to be the holdup with Briles and UT

Bruce Feldman @BruceFeldmanCFB #Tennessee is very interested in hiring Kendal Briles for its OC vacancy. One potential snag is he'd like to bring his OL coach/run game coordinator Randy Clements from UH, another former Baylor guy, with him. And Pruitt likes his own OL coach.

Well that takes him out of the running for LSU fans since they are anti hiring a coach’s buddy

Our current o-line coach has Super Bowl rings. He’s not worth getting rid of...

I'd fire Cregg to get Briles in a heartbeat and without any regret in the most savage way possible.

Cregg stinks. That's why he was merely an 'assistant' OL coach in San Diego.

If he was any good, he'd be making 2x as much at the NFL level.

Y’all get that I’m joking, right?

The RINGS was Ree’s talking point all year.

OL has regressed under Cregg.

i understand not allowing an OC to pick his entire staff, but the OL/run game coordinator is a sacrifice that's worth making. LSU is a great example of the offense and OL not working together well (And this has been going on since like 2007 or 2008). hell the only time our offense and OL seemed in sync was when our OL coach had to become OC (stud)

Naw, baw. Cregg coached the Raiders back in the Cable era. He was the assistant OL coach back then. He stunk.

He went to Tennessee with Lane Kiffin. Meh. He went to USC. Meh. After USC, this wholly impressive man of skill, talent and determination was hired... as a mere assistant OL coach in Denver.

Not the OL coach, mind you, the assistant OL coach. He followed that up by being the assistant OL coach in San Diego.

He stinks. He's always stunk. If he's so amazing, why couldn't he get a real job with a real team / program in the past four years?

As long as he hasn't signed anywhere, there's always a chance Ed Orgeron will pull his head out of his arse and make the move.

Didn't Briles just sign an extension at Houston like 4 days ago? Explain to my naive arse why a guy signs an extension at 1 school and then will likely run off to another school before the ink dries? What did I miss?
