I mean if ownership really believes Saban is the guy and he won't take no for an answer then he's the only candidate.

Anyway, about Matlock. Sure, he was a defense attorney, but if I recall correctly, he also used the classic "Perry Mason" defense approach in many of his cases. That is, he discovered the true culprit and exposed them to clear his client. So, in this way, he was a lot like a detective.

That's not exactly the best argument I've heard. I could use that statement to argue that Les Miles is taking $5mm/year to coach a junior high school team in St Louis.

If you want to be this post-modern, then you're absolutely correct, except there is no absolute correctness, just relative correctness. I mean, can any of us really "know" anything? This rumor is absurdly far-fetched, and it should take more than a couple of local radio "personalities" talking about it for anyone to take it seriously.

I had a friend in high school that would get so flustered in any argument that he'd just start repeating back the last thing said to him. "You're a cliché" would be met with "OH YEAH YOU'RE A CLICHÉ." I think he's grown out of it by now.

I guess it depends on what you mean by ATPBer. I guess that if everyone who read ATPB is an ATPBer, then no one around at that time would ever be allowed to ask for reputable sources, including you.
Besides, I'm not even asking for a reputable source. You're not understanding the thread at all. I'm simply saying that if ESPN thought that 104.5 was a reputable source on this, they'd be reporting the story. I think this entire rumor is absurd and far-fetched, no matter what local radio station in Baton Rouge is reporting it.
