I wonder if the wisdom of these contracts amongst Football AD’s is quickly wearing thin ! Jimbo and the Michigan State Coach seem to be coasting ! LSU’s AD started this crap and the wisdom of locking into a 10 year contract is questionable !

People act like Mississippi not being able to have these type of contracts holds Ole Miss and State back. But it’s been way more beneficial for us having the 4 year cap than it has harmful.

To me, the buyouts are what's crazy. Not many professions pay generously when you do a poor job and leave/fired. How a losing record doesn't warrant "cause" firing over poor job performance is beyond me. Without a payout that is.

GA has a one-year cap. Kirby's contract is with the Athletic Association and not UGA.

Disney just fired its CEO who will be paid millions after Disney signed him to a multi year contract.

It happens.

Agreed. It holds schools hostage. Aggie can’t make a move right now because of it

There should be win total requirements in the buyouts.

Not going to a bowl should knock “x” years off the buyout.

A&M's problem with Jimbo isn't due to the original contract given by Woodward. It's due to the extension and ridiculous buyout after Jimbo had a little bit of success in the COVID season and A&M thought Woodward may try and poach Jimbo to LSU.

Woodward has to own the concept of the 10 year contract. He did it at aTm and at LSU !

If the "poor job performance" is included in the right to fire for a cause, then many coaches will not take the job. It's that simple.

State law allows for the establishment of athletic associations. UGA and GT have them. Their money isn't appropriated by the legislature.

The end run is around the tax laws as they are mega-business that are shielded from paying taxes.
