Looking for tips on best ways to make more time to read
Posted on 6/23/19 at 6:18 pm to Lsujacket66
I usually get in bed at night and read for about an hour or until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore.
Married with a two year old so that’s really the best time for me.

After I get home from work and have dinner, I read for an hour or so before doing something else
On the weekend I'm able to read more but the hour a day during the week allows me to make decent progress while leaving me time for other things, like watching tv

In bed. I have gotten spoiled to the iPad for reading. It is much easier to hold and still be comfortable. Plus my old eyes don't see print the way they used to.

It isn’t easy with work and kids.
But I’ve always been one who only needs 5-6 hours of sleep a night. So once the wife is in bed I try to read 60-90 minutes before I turn in.
On weekends I can often get another hour in before everyone else wakes up.
That’s my goal each day. Don’t always get it for various reasons.

Last 15 minutes before bed is about as good as I can do, now. It gets the job done. I get 5 or 6 books on the same topic every Christmas and read them all year.
I also bring the Kindle to every doctor's appointment, auto shop, anything where I'm going to be waiting anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour for somebody else.

I am 100% audiobook and listen on my commute, usually 50 minutes each way. I can extend the commute depending on which subway station I walk to. Right now, I am walking to a further station to get in a little bit of exercise.

I wake up with the family at 5, drop the girls off at daycare at 6:30 with the wife, she goes to work, I come back home and sit on the porch with the dog and read for an hour or so each morning until about 8 when I mosey down to my basement office and start work for the day. My team know I wont respond to calls or emails during that "golden hour" before about 7:45a. I'm blessed to be able to work from home, otherwise I would never be able to find time.

The wife and I both have nooks when we both go to bed we both read till sleepy. I take mine to the toilet occasionally, and on down days sit in my chair and read a bit I love reading and have all my life so I find the time. I love my nook. It has over 250 books in it easy to carry and easy for old eyes to see. Reading on device opens you up to hundreds of thousands of books not in print. Also indy books are always cheaper than paper books

during bathroom time and when kids are asleep/not home. i may bring a book to work from time to time if I have a few minutes here and there. Other than those time, reading goes to a minimum

My son is gone and no haggling wife any more.
Reading is my primary source of entertainment. I read before work in the morning and before and after dinner. I read an entire 526 page book yesterday.

I try the hour before bed. It helps relax me to sleep and also get some reading in.

Always early evening or at night for a couple hours before bed. I don’t have any electronics or TV in my bedroom on purpose so I won’t be tempted to turn that on or fall asleep to it. I read on my lunch break also for nearly an hour. Books are my escape and my comfort zone.

When I have spare time at work, I use the Kindle Cloud Reader.

I don't watch much TV, so I guess when most people are catching shows, I'm reading.

Must have been a good one, I love it when I find those books that series that I just can't put down. Got turned on to a couple last year and spent a few nights reading till 3 or 4 in the morning cause I had to finish. Work is usually brutal the next day but small sacrifices for a great book I think.
