I didn't realize this was somewhat in question. Egwene is my second favorite character in the series, and I'd argue she actually has the best character arc of anyone.
I just hope we can make it to the end of book 6. I don't think making the entire series is realistic without way too much change that would ruin things, so if we can just get to the Battle of Dumai's Wells and end on that "They are on their knees Aes Sedai… Kneel," I think I'd call that a win.

Kneel before the dragon reborn, or you shall be knelt

came around to Egwene HARD on one of my rereads. I think i would skip her chapters at one point.
For most of the series I think Egwene is great, and her storyline in the gathering storm is one of the best parts of the series. I think it's just the last two books where she turns into a total arrogant Mary Sue and thinks she's smarter than every person in the world that kinda leaves a sour taste in your mouth by the end to a certain extent. After gathering storm I would have said she was right behind Matt as one of my favorite characters of the series, but by the end she wouldn't make that cut for me.

Well, Egwene is his favorite character so that sort of makes him a psycho so
She is the worst. Nynaeve has redemption for her awful character in the first few books, but Egwene is awful the entire series.

Nyn still gets under my skin lol.
She definitely has some redeeming moments but I still can't stand her.

Her Gawyn arc is nauseating (though he himself is worst still, but I'm ok with having characters that I don't like because of their flaws, not doing what the "should have"), but Jordan's use of her to demonstrate the superior Leadership-building techniques of the Aiel versus the white tower (her level-jumping Nynaeve in maturity, self-control, etc) was brilliant!
And her quiet assumption of authority in the tower, the final confrontation with Eleida, is, again, outstanding.
paraphrasing
"you could have escaped (using traveling) at anytime!"
"I wouldn't have been escaping, forgoten name of generic aes sedi, I would have been abandoning you"
"you really are the amylin!"
She got pretty hard headed toward the end, but, as events played out, she clearly had to be. And the universe new it, and made her so.
It's a weird sort of circular plot-armor

Ya, she has a great arc but it has to be Rand in terms of the best i think. His arc just has so many twists and turns throughout the series.
for me it is going to be seeing the columns of Rhuidean

Oh hell ya. I want to see what they do with the Age of Legends flashbacks.

It was an amazing way to infodump a ridiculous amount of worldbuilding and history in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat. click click click click with I forget his name tearing at his face.
One of the more brilliant techniques that Jordan used in the series IMO.

A few notes:
It appears they are officially back to production. A few cast members have confirmed on Insta.
Ciaran Donnelly is doing the last two episodes as Director. he's directed episodes of Altered Carbon, Vikings, The Bastard Executioner, etc.
Last and this is totally unconfirmed, but a poster on reddit in a totally unrelated thread and subreddit claimed to be part of a test group for Amazon for the first 3 episodes. Had no familiarity with the series. She claims to have "only gotten 30 minutes in" and gave up, because she said that they threw you into this world with no explanation like you were supposed to know what was going on, was confused, and didn't care so she stopped watching. And she didn't recognize any of the actors except Rosamund Pike and she didn't like that.
Just saying

If you would have said this first, I would have disregarded her opinion sooner.

I'm a bit skeptical. Huge Fantasy/sci-fi fan and has no idea about Wheel of Time and was lost 30 minutes in? WoT has a pretty standard fantasy beginning, so unless it's drastically different, I really don't believe it.

Also don’t recognize Michael McIlhatten who had a huge role on Game of Thrones and was assuredly heavily featured in the first 30 minutes as Tam al’Thor.

Wheel of time youtube guy who seems to be in the know with the jordan estate people said that he confirmed nobody has seen anything

Interesting. Amazon DOES do this with their programs. So it’s believable. And the first 6 episodes have been in post for awhile.
But that’s good to hear.

I like the casting so far.
Only quibble being Perrin is taller than Rand. Rand being taller than the other Two Rivers folk was a major clue to his origins.
And I always envisioned Lan as an asian dude, so that feels right

Height can be messed with using angles, editing, etc. Otherwise Tom Cruise wouldn't be able to be action movie star.
Even Rosamund Pike is a bit too tall for Moiraine, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Perrin is 6'6
Rand is 6'0
They should just swap characters

Rand actor is 6’2”
Perrin actor is 6’5”.
My guess is they will either hide it or just not make it a plot point.
The show runner has insinuated several times that he doesn’t care at all about the book descriptions and instead focused on talent.
Personally I think he should have went with both, and he went way way way too hardcore SJW which isn’t surprising for him, but it really doesn’t bother me.
As long as the show is good none of that matters. If it isn’t, then it does.
