After finishing “ the years of extermination 1939-1945” a history of the Jews by Saul friedlander
Highly recommend if anyone is wanting something in that era
Decided to go down the sports aisle at the library to give myself a break from the most depressing shite and pick up some John Feinstein books 1) the majors and 2) the last amateurs.
Also picked up “ the boys in the boat “

Empire of the Summer Moon was an excellent book. Really hit home how it took alot of effort to settle central and west Texas. The Commanchee were some bad asses who punched above their weight. You definitely didn't want to be captured by them. They were also quite ruthless to any other Indian tribe that were in their way.

I found it much harder to read than Rebel Yell. Quit reading about 1/3 in

A friend recommended daniel silva so I read the first of the gabriel allon series "the kill artist" and finished it up last week. It was good, no real copmlaints, but I don't really have any desire to read any more of the series for some reason.
Previously from Amor Towles I read the lincoln highway and was absolutely in love wiht it, then followed it up with Gentleman in moscow and loved taht too. I never had any interest in Rules of Civilitiy just bsaed on the subject matter but I didn't really have any other ideas or books queued up so I bout ROC anyway. Only a chapter in but I can tell it's going to be another good one.
