I just finished delicate condition. I’m trying to decide if I’ll even attempt to watch this season of AHS because I know Ryan Murphy will ruin it, but I liked the book.

I don't watch much TV/streaming at all. Is the Delicate Condition in a series? Seems like a good read. did you enjoy it? Are thrillers your typical genre?

It is what this season of American horror story is based on. I’m sure it is not worth watching. I did like the book.

I usually read horror, thrillers, and horse books

And I’m usually in the middle of a few at a time.

Actually just finished Ed O's book (Flip the Script); it was a gift and just started a book written by a friend of mine.

my TBR list continues to grow. Booktok is going to be the death of me and I'm not sure I'll ever make time to clean my house again.

I just finished One Damned Island After Another: The Saga of the Seventh by Clive Howard and Joe Whitley
about the U.S. Seventh Air Force in World War II. I will soon start A Glorious Way to Die by Russell Spurr about the last mission of the Japanese battleship Yamato.

Last few books:

Middlesex by Eugenides

The Amazing Advebtures of Cavalier and Clay by Chabon

Rabbit Redux by Updike

Watchmen by Moore/Gibbons

About to finish Solomon's Song by Morrison

I typically alternate between fiction and nonfiction, but I've been beset by work and life problems this year, so I've read fiction to reduce my cognitive load. I may attempt nonfiction next. Perhaps The Undoing Project by Lewis or House of Morgan by Chernow. Or maybe I'll continue on in vein of fiction with Crossroads by Franzen or The Secret History by Tart.

I've been into fiction lately.

I read A Little Life about 30ish books ago, and needed something lighter after that- and dipped my toes into the fictional romance genre and that quickly spiraled into dark romance smut.

I didn't either until this summer when I went on vacation with my sister to Maui. She brought a book for us to read together and have 'sister book club' while on the beach- and that started the slow spiral.

I got this because I loved and have reread virgin suicides so many times, but I could only read this once. I got it right when it came out and barely remember it, though. Maybe I should try again.
