I've read the Way of Kings and am halfway through Words of Radiance. Should I keep going in order or read some of the other books mentioned before continuing?

You can straight through, but I would recommend reading others after you finish words of radiance.
That way you can pickup on all the cosmere tie points.
Just my opinion however.

I just finished Words of Radiance. The last 150 pages is a nonstop action packed twisting joy to plow through. I couldn’t tear myself away. When Syl finally came back and Kaladin hits his full potential while Dalinar and Andolin are fighting Szeth was magic. I had waited for 2 books for a shard blade to turn into a spear lol. I cheered at that.
Sanderson is a master of his craft. What an amazing story and book. Both this book and Way of Kings blew away my expectations of what a fantasy book could be. Wow.
Kaladin, Dalinar, and Andolin have become my favorite characters in any book I’ve read in a long time. I assume after a re-read they’ll be my favorite of all time.
Glad Sadeas finally got what was coming to him. Hopefully Amaram will as well. Hopefully Andolin doesn’t become a jealous assclown and destroy himself, but killing Sadeas seems to be counter to “protecting even those I hate”. Guess that’s why he’s not a Radiant.

Wait…. Was that Vasher’s sword Nightblood from Warbreaker introduced at the end of Words of Radiance and given to Szeth?

Also, I found a 2022 (so no inclusion of the 2023 kickstarter projects) updated Map. Let me know if you’ve seen a better one:

I think the last two books are cosmere related as well but don’t know what’s in them because I don’t want to read any of the released chapters etc until they come out.

Szeth is kind of awesome I’m interested to see where his story goes.
I’ll be back after I finish Oathbringer and Rhythm of War. Then I’ll be be fully caught up on everything but the kickstarter books.

That's probably the first significant Cosmere connection introduced into Stormlight (besides Hoid). Hmm.. though now that I think about it. Actually Nightblood would be second. You've met one other significant character several times by now. This will become more apparent in OB if you don't figure it out beforehand (I didn't). Also, you've read about some other minor characters too from the Cosmere.

Dalinar is my favorite. Alot of people rate Oathbringer behind WoK and WoR. Oathbringer is Dalinar's book in the series like WoK was Kaladin's. Imo, the Sanderlanche in OB is just as good as the one in WoR if not better.

You’ve taken your first steps into a larger world

Haven't read this thread outside of the first few posts in order to avoid spoilers. But jumped into the Cosmere based on the love these books get on this board and in this thread.
Came in knowing NOTHING of the series. Almost halfway through The Final Empire and really loving it. Sanderson's use of metals in this book is fascinating. Very unique powers system that makes the combat sections extremely enjoyable. I can visualize how fast paced the action is supposed to be going based on his descriptions of the pushing & pulling element taking place nonstop.

Yea I read stormlight before Warbreaker so I was like oh…a talking sword guess that’s cool. Was much more important I later realized. As someone else said Oathbreaker is as good as Radiance imo and top tier book period. There is a lift novella between WoR and OB featuring Lift, not necessary but a good read.

Sanderson biggest strengths are his world building and his hard magic systems. Though his real super power is his ability to consistently write and put out books on a regular basis unlike some of his fantasy peers.
Glad you are enjoying Mistborn. If you didn't see the post about reading order; I recommend following publication order except for Mistborn Secret History. Save that for after RoW.

I just finished Words of Radiance.
Can't wait for the next.
"Not you son...."
and
"Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do"
both gave me chills.
ETA" honorable mention to "My father thinks that I'm a better man than him...well he's wrong"

It does end well, so it's worth the ride. Was still a bit disappointed in Rhythm of War, but satisfied with the ending.

I get why people feel disappointed with RoW. Imo WoK, WoR and OB are some of the best fantasy books ever written. So anything not at that level will feel worse.
RoW is opening up the rest of the Cosmere, so it has to do more world building which isn't as exciting. Also alot of people are tired of Kaladin's PTSD. However, that is very intentional by Sanderson. You can't just take a pill or decide no longer to have PTSD/depression.
Sure I agree RoW isn't as good as the first 3 books. My initial reading I'd have rate it a 7-7.5 but after a re-read I'd give it a solid 8. I remember being a bit bored by Navani's story and her experiments. After a re-read and reading on Coppermind, I have a greater appreciation of what Navani has discovered and implications for the Cosmere. Especially after reading TLM which opened up even more of the Cosmere etc.

As pointed out by I think Sel in the books all the radiants are broken that is what allows the bond to take place (paraphrasing of course). So because of that the radiants healing as they progress through the ideals is pretty key in their journey

Yes, I would agree with the 7-7.5/10 rating for it. While I understand that mental conflicts and issues don't have a magic on/off switch, it still made for a slog at many times. Still a good book, but way off the standard that I expected for a Stormlight entry.
