Mistborn Era 2 - Wayne is the best Cosmere character. His accents in the audiobook made it worth price alone.
Storming Wayne. The end of The Lost Metal is one of the very few books that made me tear up. Wayne is absolutely the best character in that side of the universe and is certainly in the top 3 of the Cosmere.

Sunlit Man - Mad Max in space might be my favorite Cosmere book. Another one that I’m glad I read after WaT
Finally. Seems most people thought it was the weakest of the secret novels. I think it’s one of my fav Sanderson Books.

Mistborn Era 1 - Allomancy > Stormlight.
That’s a tough call and I don’t know which one I like more yet. I go back and forth. Not getting a fight between a full allomancer and a radiant is such a bummer. I can’t wait to see if Sanderson pulls off a battle between an awakener, allomancer, and I guess lightbearer (Herlads, singers, radiants, fused, whatever Adolin is, etc)
Some sort of massive fight involving Moash, Marsh, Adolin, Kaladin, and Vasher could be very interesting.

My signed copy of Word of Radiance finally showed up yesterday and I can add it to my bookshelf. I’m exited to keep adding Stormlight but I cannot wait for them to release Lost Metal. It seems so incomplete to look at the Mistborn novels on my shelf and that one be missing.

If the allegiances fall the way you would expect in that group, that fight would be short and brutal and you could dispose of what's left of the loser with a mop and bucket.

I could see a four way fight.
Moash/Taravangian
v
Adolin/Vasher/Lift/Cultivation
v
Kaladin/Heralds
v
Kelsier/Allomancers/Harmony

That would be highly entertaining.

Finished it Monday. It definitely picked up there at the end obviously. The last 100 pages or so being a very fun ride. I think for sure though out of the first three Mistborn, Edgedancer, and the first three Stormlight, Oathbringer is my least favorite by a good bit.
Like I said, it was really the first book of his that dragged to me. Which is pretty impressive in itself to have read that many pages so far and just now getting to some stuff that felt lacking/harder to keep turning the pages. I think it was a combination of Shallan and the Ghostbloods being something I didn't like, Dalinars vision wasn't my favorite, the upside down world was just ok and that Odium as a villain didn't do it for me quite as much. I 100% see Odium getting better and better though.
Feels like I'm complaining but I'm not trying to
Patiently waiting on The Alloy of Law to get here so I can start Mistborn era 2. Might take a slight break from the Cosmere after era 2 before jumping back into Stormlight. I don't want to get burned out on it.

Finally. Seems most people thought it was the weakest of the secret novels. I think it’s one of my fav Sanderson Books.
I go back and forth on how I feel about it. I think Nomad's story is one of the best protagonist stories Sanderson has done. And the Cinder King is a good villain. It was all the other characters that I found incredibly forgettable. And the story itself is somewhat forgettable, but an incredibly fun ride while you're experiencing it.

I loved Sunlit Man. I liked it even more than Yumi in some ways with it being tied to Stormlight; though Yumi was the overall better book. Frugal Wizard I thought was easily the weakest out of the 4 secret projects.

Cool I'll let you know when it comes in. About to read something light while waiting on it to come in.
I buy books off eBay because I like being able to see the picture of the actual book I'm getting (and I try to get 1st editions just from a collecting standpoint), but I normally end up regretting it because Amazon takes 1 day and eBay takes two weeks.

I was gonna ask "really how?" then I read the criteria again and I can see it. It's my 3rd favorite stormlight book. I'd probably put it above wells of ascension and edgedancer though. Definitely ahead of RoW and WaT though.

Can someone explain to me how Szeth has all the surges as he’s training? I’m sure I’m just missing something, but I don’t recall an explanation. All of the others he’s battling seem to only have a regular surge combo, but Szeth mentioned not being very good with light weaving but never that he can’t do it. But then there’s never any other instances where he uses the other surges after his training.

The Shin had the Honor Blades. He - and others - trained with all of them.

I'm assuming you're in wind and truth?

He doesn't have all the surges as he's training. He has the surges specific to each Honor Blade as he trains with that blade. He loses those surges and gains the surges of the next Honor Blade when he moves on to that blade.

The Shin possessed all but one of the Honorblades (Nale's).
Each Honorblade contains two surges, just like the Nahel bond (the bonding with a spren). While it doesn't have the spren to limit the user in using the surge and thus anyone can use an Honorblade's surges, the blades cannot be bonded and they use more stormlight than those with the Nahel bond.
If memory serves, each Shin blade bearer made a pilgrimage to each Shin temple and trained with each blade before settling into their role of the head of their blade's temple. So whichever blade Szeth was training with, he had access to only the surges of that blade.

So I forgot to mention that I started era 2 and got carried away.
Nice easy read in comparison to Stormlight. Needed that break.
Last night was the chapter when Wax went essentially to the well of ascension and when he gets there, a voice goes "I've been waiting for you." Boom! TenSooooooooooon! My favorite character is back.
I'm not going to lie, I thought TenSoon died after ruin took over his body and tried to kill Sazed and made him remove his blessings. Might not have thought that at the time but now that some time has passed since reading Era one if you were to ask me two days ago I would have said he died. O well, glad to know he's still kicking and still in the wolf hound form. Turns out he doesn't like it so bad.

I just finished the Stormlight Archive. If I want to move forward with the Cosmere, what do y’all recommend? The first Mistborn trilogy?
Edited to add that I’ve read nothing in the Cosmere but the Stormlight books.

So...you probably should have read mistborn mixed in with stormlight, there's a lot of overlap, and some things in Stormlight that will go over your head without having read mistborn, and some reveals in Mistborn era 2 that won't be as big.
However, yes: Mistborn.
Era 1 and 2.
Maybe read Elantris first, then Mistborn Era 1, Warbreaker, Mistborn Era 2

I wish I could forget everything about Era 2 and read SoS again for the first time. Probably my favorite Mistborn book.
