I'm late to this party. I'll set a very modest goal of 20 books.

Currently reading:

1. Emperor of the eight islands - Lian Hearn. 249 pages.

2. The Brain's Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of Neuroplasticity - Norman Doidge, M.D., 352 pages

I’ve slowed down here recently on my reading. I’ve been watching Netflix and whatnot more recently.

I don't set a goal by total books or pages, but what I have done and may do again this year is check out a few top 100 novel lists and try to read a few more of the books on them during the year.

I've only read about 1/4 to 1/3 of most lists. This year I'll try to read maybe 5-10 from one list or another. I'm not going to give up reading other stuff I like to do more than that.

I've slowed way down. Just started The Last Patriot by Thor and I'm hooked

It's like a mix of Brown's Langdon and Flynn's Mitch Rapp book in one

I missed this thread - I'm shooting for 24 books this year and maybe ramp up after that.

I'm reading all the books by former scientologists right now - thus far in 2018, I've read:

1. Counterfeit Dreams - Jeff Hawkins

2. Blown for Good - Marc Headley

3. Abuse at the Top - Amy Scobee

That’s the truth. And they’re all sizable books for the most part.

Why wouldn't rereads count?

Edit:
Bit of a bump as well to maybe remind folks to update their lists.

How was this book - Was it somewhat technical or more of an overview? I may add it to my list but i've already got a few different physics things on there (and just finished re-reading A Brief History of Time).

Was an overview, not very technical at all. I read the whole thing in an afternoon. It made for some interesting food for thought, but it was obviously written for people without much science background.
