There's nothing like reading a paperback book. Of course an e-reader like a Kindle? You can't really go wrong either. So what do you prefer?

Love my Kindle Voyage

It depends. I use my Kindle to read fiction when I'm on the elliptical; however, if I want to retain the material, I prefer the traditional paper format.

If it is a book that I think I will really like and may want to read again, I always get a physical copy. If I am just trying out a new author or catching up on some classics I go e-reader.

I use a Samsung tablet as my e-reader.
I love that it's self-lit for reading in bed and I can change the font size so I don't have to wear my reading glasses.

I usually read on my kindle, but there are some authors that I either get the hardbacks when they release, or try and find hardback copies.
Sanderson, Ericson, and Jordan I either have all hardcovers, or am actively working to complete a hardcover set.

Both.
Library - free books.
E-Reader/Kindle - not free books mostly. Convenient. Instant. Portable.

I use my iPad. Easy to read in bed with it.

Man I don't get how you guys are able to read on a normal LCD screen for an extended period of time. I end up getting a headache if I'm reading more than 30 minutes or so.

E reader is very convenient, but my eyes and my heart prefer paper. I do use the crap out of my kindle, doe.

Depending on where you live you can get a library card to rent books online with your e-reader for free.

I've been inseparable from my Kindle since I got one when they first came out. Never looked back.

Love physically holding a book, especially if I want to share with friends or highlight passages to reread. But the convenience of an e-reader has me. I can download a book at midnight if I want, have several books if I’m going on a long trip, like the backlight for reading bed

I really like having a real book, but most of my books are in Epub format books.
It's just so convenient to have a big collection of books available on your tablet...I think I only purchased one paper book in the last year.. "Mosby's Rangers"

I used to be dead set against readers until I got a tablet and then my world changed.
A book came out a couple of years back that wasn't immediately available in e-form so I had to buy the book. I like reading in bed before I go to sleep so that night found me doing my usual routine of turning off my light as I crawled into bed, not realizing my book did not have it's own internal light. To add insult to injury, after I turned the bedside lamp on so I could read I kept finding myself tapping the page in an attempt to turn it.
I felt like such a maroon.
My current (and thus far favorite) reading device is an old iPad my father-in-law gave me when he upgraded his. I use Nook and just buy the book through my phone (since Apple tries to force you to buy through them) then download it onto my tablet and enjoy.

Just invested in a Kindle Paperwhite so I can read at night without disturbing the wife. I do prefer physical books though

I have been using my phone to read the last few books.
The Libby app with a library card allows you to check out books and start reading them anywhere with an internet connection. Once you download the book, you don't even need that.
