Those comments are sad.

I like book Asha and am a little disappointed that her badassness has been squashed in the show. Victarion is ok, but I couldn't care less what happens to the rest of the Iron Born.
Agreed on the Aegon/Connington angle though. Even if he ended up as Faegon (and I think that's the case) it could've still translated to screen to some degree.
I'm pretty sure Dario=Euron so I don't think the ironborn are the least bit done.

Could also explain the recasting of Daario. Michel Huisman looks a lot more like the Crow' s Eye than Daario#1.

Yea. If that crackpot theory comes true, I'm throwing my hands up in the air and giving up on asoiaf.

Balon Greyjoy should have died prior to the Red Wedding

Sometimes I feel like they forgot about Balon like they did with Gendry still on the canoe since S3
.

My fear is that GRRM will troll all of us and find out that that is the most popular theory and completely change it to frick with everyone.
He will not do this. He has said repeatedly before that he likes smart readers that figure his mysteries out. Remember D&D had to solve Jon Snows parentage before GRRM agreed to let them do the show
Posted on 5/10/15 at 7:55 pm to Finkle is Einhorn
That's true I forgot about that.

Wife and I started the complete box set of Harry Potter. While watching since I read all the books she asked who is Harry's godmother since it's never mentioned. I said they never really disclosed that. She started looking up theories online and at one point she asked, "Does Game of Thrones" have a lot of theories like this?
I didn't know what to say........

People keep saying this, but in all of the interviews, D&D and GRRM just said that he asked who they thought Jon's parents were. They never said if they guessed right or not.

Mrs. Midnight and I were discussing whether or not it makes more sense for either Tyrion or Jaime to be Aerys' child, going into the Kinslayer/Kingslayer curse, or hair color in the books or whatever.
I finally got to the point where I said, "This is crazy. We're talking about these characters like they're real people. There is no 'answer' - just what the fat guy comes up with in the future." - and we chuckled a little.
On that note, though - it is possible, IRL, for fraternal twins to have different fathers.
What if Aerys is Cersei's father, but not Jaime's? I don't recall seeing that before, but it may be in this ~1000 page thread for all I know.

This is off topic to what has been being discussed, but when the hell will we see Viserion and Rhaegal claimed? We have two books left and this is pretty important considering the impending White Walker attack. I still believe the riders will be two of the following: Jon, Tyrion, Aegon, and Bran. No idea who claims what dragon though. I've tried going off of characteristics as Drogon - black and red is an obvious tie in to Targaryen house colors, but the other two don't really match up to any house much less those of the riders mentioned. I'm probably going to waste most of my day looking for a tie in as last night's episode got me wondering.

I agree with you - I still think Aegon might be a Blackfyre imposter (and maybe he even doesn't know) - so, he's a "Red Targ"
Tyrion is an expert on dragons - if he turns out to be Targ - for sure he will be one of the riders.
Jon - I think he will be a rider as well - half-Stark, half-Targ - he probably gets the white dragon (Ghost is white and this may foreshadow it - Ghost may have to die for Jon to bond with the dragon - for all we know, they have to kill Ghost when they try to kill Jon).
As far as the symbolic nature of their names - Viserion is named for her brother. If the Tyrion (when you think about it, a Dragon name) = Targ theory turns out to be true, Tyrion is Dany's brother (but also Rhaegar's brother AND Viserys' brother).
Rhaegal is also named for Dany's brother, but if R+L=J is true, then Jon is Rhaegar's son - so it would be appropriate for him to claim.
So, I think it will be Tyrion and Jon, but I could see the color assignment going either way.

1. What happened to Benjen Stark?
2. What happened to the Blackfish?
Damnit I want to know.

I'm sticking with Coldhands (despite the "long time" comment).

On the run. Not sure if he's going to try to break Edmure out to return as the Lord of Riverrun - OR link up with LSH. He's becoming the Boba Fett of ASOIAF - getting the most popularity out of the fewest pages (maybe excepting Bronn and Benjen).

Crackpot on... Greenseer = Green. Bran is descended from the first men who brought about = Bronze. We have a rider of Rhaegal!
Viserion still a mystery
Tyrion is not a Targ. Hope not anyway.

Well, GRRM just shot you down. I don't know when, though, but this article is from today.

Meanwhile, one of the most popular theories about the upcoming book was personally dismissed by George R.R. Martin. This theory is about Coldhands which could be Benjen Stark. Millions have believed this, but then again, if the author says no, then it is a big NO!
