I probably won't believe it until I see the option for pre-order on Amazon.

It doesn't matter. The entire series is about to be ruined by D&D who have some weird objective to beat GRRM to finish by basically completely skipping right over two whole books

You're so melodramatic.

Literature and television are two very different mediums and...ah frick it.

I prefer Lanna Lannister inheriting CR instead. It's the ultimate "f.u." to Tywin and his legacy.

Have an upvote, madam.
"Where do whores go"?
Casterly Rock is where they go..

They definitely do
.
I just love the irony of a legitimate whore inheriting it.

Indeed. O Henry has nothing on that.

In my opinion D&D have every right to move forward. The show & books are 2 different mediums. Sure, it sucks that Martin takes forever to write his books; in an ideal world, he would've had the last 2 books finished 5 years ago and we would've all known the end game. But that is sadly not the case. The show introduced me to the book series and I just can't see myself abstaining from watching the show just to wait for the books/not have the show spoil the end game. But I don't have that kind of patience and I'm still going to tune in on Sundays in the Spring
.

Same here. I'd never heard of the books before the HBO series. I really wish fat man would finish this shite and we wouldn't have to worry about it.

Only issue with the show passing is that they supposedly have a general idea how the books end. So instead of having the books spoil the show, I now have the show spoiling the books. I will watch and enjoy, but it's definitely not a perfect scenario.

My issue is that the show, in my opinion, has made too many questionably bad changes already. I will usually watch it, but I don't really feel need the to rewatch many of the episodes. Whereas, I have read the books several times. I would prefer to get the story from the book medium first just because I think it will be a better story without knowing where it is going. It wasn't that big of a deal going the other way, maybe because you have other things to distract you like actors' choices, new sets, etc.
If the series is really getting ahead, I will very likely just put my watching on hold till at least after Winds of Winter.

For me watching the first 3 seasons and then reading the books made me appreciate the books more

If he is putting on the final touches it won't be that late. It only took 2 months for them to publish dance after he finished manuscript. It will be in our hands well before June IMO.
That being said, there are several sites, including the one you linked, that release completely false 'news' every week. You learn this when you google 'winds of winter news' daily.

Just read the world of ice and fire.
It's a common belief here that ageon VI who claims to be rhaegar's only son is a blackfyre and commonly called fageon. Who is he supposed to be a descendant of? We are led to believe the blackfyres were finished in the war of the nine penny Kings. Just curious if some of you diehard ASOIAF fans have changed your opinion.

It's only the male line that is truly extinguished, but I think the female line still lives. Faegon is the son of Illyrio and Serra, who is Varys sister.

Pretty much all of this...

The male blackfyres all died, but at least one of the female bastards survived. Faegon is thought to be the child of Ilyrio Mopatis and his blackfyre descended lover.
EDIT: already posted
