Yes

And Cersei wasn't THAT crazy at this point in the books...

And Cersei was the only person who loved him. She would've never done anything to hurt Joffrey.

I guess it's funny cuz we have known the correct answer for so long, combined with how bat - shite crazy Cersei goes after Joff's death...

It's not the fact that she could've dine it that's funny, just knowing she didn't. If that makes sense at all.

Exactly; but even as a Hodor, you'd think that they could tell by her reaction that she wouldn't have done it. I'd put everyone else at that wedding feast as being more suspect than Cersei.

Can someone explain to me why this is so funny? Martin decided to go one direction with who killed Joffrey. If he had gone another direction the Cersei angle could be right. We have all seen how crazy Cersei is. So why is it such a funny theory?

Because Cersei spoiled Joffrey rotten. She wouldn't have done anything to harm him.

And the timing is terrible for Cersei to do it. Margaery has a claim to the thrown despite not getting to consummate the marriage, so its not an easy play for Cersei to just slip back into the role of Queen Regent

I know this doesn't fly but it is just for fun.

I don't know how hard it is to believe. We all know now how crazy Cersei. I think that she was always this crazy. We just didn't see it before. I don't think it is totally off the wall that a truly crazy person could do something intentionally and then be really upset about it. There are actual women who poison their children so they can take them to the doctor and get sympathy for having a sick child. I think Cersei could be just that crazy. As for slipping back into being queen regent, she has Tommen now.
Margery has no claim to the throne now. If she did then Cersei would have been queen when Robert died.

Even though I know it isn't true I would have a great time making a case for why Cersei killed Joffrey in the hodor thread. Oh well.

Still, Cersei isn't all that insane at this point in the books. She's still at least somewhat same now. That changes when Joff dies and definitely when her father does.

I am not so sure. We don't get a Cersei chapter until book four so we really don't get a look inside that pretty little head of hers until then.

Which brings us back to Tywin.
Do we all agree he was poisoned before Tyrion emptied his bowels with a bolt?

If so, by who?

I struggle with Red Viper cuz I don't think he would use poison as a primary...Although that particular cocktail has a truly agonizing effect.
I would think OM would want to be around to see the suffering. Maybe he thought he would be...

On the second reading, it seems pretty obvious that it was The Red Viper. He almost explicitly states it to Tyrion at one point.

Would be an odd poison to use. Just locking up bowels.

You should be happy, Glass. Now she knows I'm unavailable so that opens up a door for you. It's a small door, of course, but a door nonetheless.

Just be careful. I hear she's known to shove people out a certain door, too. She's a slayer, that one!

odd, excruciatingly painful, takes long enough to establish an alibi, and virtually untraceable (no one would realize it was caused by poison and would assume some other malady caused it)
