If you had problems after book 5, hate to have seen you read books 8-11 of that series. Jordan completely lost control of that series after book 6. I wouldn't really suggest folks read WOT until they read a bunch of much better series first. The first 6-7 books of WOT are very fun, but after that it goes to crap. Sanderson did a decent job with the ending, but the actual final book of the series is pretty meh.
