I think that's plausible as well.
Looking forward to the next South Park episode & wondering if they're going to spoil the Hodors again unknowingly (the show had a S4/ASoS spoiler last episode).

There is also a theory that ColdHands is Bran Stark, former commander of the Night's Watch, who betrayed his oath and married an other. He was defeated by his brother King of the North when combined with the King beyond the Wall.
I think the fact that he brings Sam to the Nightfort specifically helps confirm this, since that's where he declared himself king and set up as his own castle.

And since he also said "I'm your monster, Brandon Stark"

Yes, he was naming himself, not saying (young) Bran's name.
ETA: Here is a non-spoiler review of "The Princess and the Queen"

So why is he calling himself a monster?

Ok, rereading right now, and I have a few theories, but have no idea if they have been fleshed out by others
1) It seems it should be very significant that Winterfell rests on hot springs, no?
2)If Cersei's life is in the balance with her Trial by champion, then it would be The Hound who becomes the valaquar, correct?
3) Is is significant that Sam Tarly's house sigil is a single striding huntsman, and thus he may end up the "lone hunter" with the sword Heartsbane to destroy the heart of winter?
yeah, for crackpots!
edit: for those who think GRRM hasn't been writing, you obviously haven't been following UGA's football season. I recognize his hand in its architecture.

He was doing some Craster type shite, and he is the reason the Wall has no defenses facing South.
Bran tells this story with 2 others one, being the Rat Cook.
Some don't think he is ColdHands and would never have been left alive or unburnt. They feel he was just a way to introduce his Queen. The Night's King Queen some believe is the anti-Melisandre, in the song of ice and fire.
