Stannis wanted to kill him back when Robert was still King

I think I'll definitely do a reread once we get confirmation about when TWoW will be released. I.e., if TWoW comes out July 2015, I'll start my reread in January 2015.
I did my first re-read before Dance came out. Then my second about a year ago using the suggested format combining Dance and Feast. You learn something new each time and appreciate the story more with each read. You also want to punch the Fat Man writing this shite in the throat for taking so long.

Rereading the series is almost more tempting than starting new series for me. The feeling you get when you pick up something that you missed before is so awesome. I remember one distinctly from my reread. In Theon's first chapter heading back to Iron Islands, he worries about possibly being murdered upon his return. He then shakes it off saying that the only time Greyjoys are murdered on the Iron Islands is by their own brother, and both of his were dead. It was then that I knew for sure that Euron killed Balon, or at least orchestrated it. The seaweed covered faceless man with a crow on his shoulder is telling, but the line confirms it for me.

I'm hopeful that TWoW will be like ASoS; but I expect it to be like the last 1/3 of ASoS from beginning to end.
Agreed, the last 1/3 of ASoS is my favorite in the series so far.

Yeah, I definitely plan on combining Dance and Feast upon my reread. Maybe that'll help with the pacing, and I'll probably skip Brienne's chapters altogether and skim through the Dorne, Iron Islands chapters, and probably skip some/skim some with Dany's ADWD chapters.

It took Feast to a whole new level. It went from least favorite to one of my favorites. There are so many hidden clues in that book, mainly in...

Don't do this. Read these with the notion that there is important information you are searching for. Plus it's fun to gaze into Randall Tarly's evilness first hand.

This. I hate Dorne.

Iron Islands chapters
Don't sleep on Victarion. There is something the crackpot team is missing here. (In my biased opinion. Victarion is one of my favorites)

Worse on the reread. Although you need to pay attention when Barristan speaks. That's all these chapters are good for.

I'm sure you've mentioned this before but what do you think the crackpot team has been missing?

Wow. Great catch. Thanks for sharing. Long live the Crackpot thread!!!

Yeah, what's the Victarion theory?
Posted on 10/21/13 at 10:18 pm to ladytiger118
It's not so much Victarion. It's a feeling of there's something important here I get when reading his POVs. Whether it be Maqorro/strong hand, Euron/dragon horn, or the fact that I hope he splits Daario in half. I think the Rhollor strong hand will also be done to Jamie while in UnCats company. (Then he could strangle his older sister with both hands like the prophesy)
Victarion knows better than to blow the horn. I think he makes it a gift to Dany and brings her home.

I probably won't reach my 4th reread for about 10 years . But it goes to show that this series has reread-ability and rewatch-ability.

I'm still looking at the dragon's attraction to the Targ bloodline and wondering if that's what the horn does. Bind dragons to the bloodline of the blower. So Vic may well blow the horn and open the door for Theon.

I really don't feel like going through this to find the explanation, but what is the deal with combinging ADWD and AFFC? Is there like some written down method of doing this?
I guess I could google it, but maybe one of you can jsut point me in the right direction...

Easily one of my favorite moments of the entire series.
Having watched the series before reading the books, all I could do was picture that mean looking fricker standing in the door of the tower being like frick yea.
