Poor Rickon I think I finally just came across his fate:
Was looking into Brans weirwood visions and the final one seems to be showing the early Stark men making a blood sacrifice
quote:
Does a Stark need to be sacrificed at the Winterfell heart tree to end a long winter and defeat the White Walkers? Is this why there must always be a Stark in Winterfell? Because Winter is coming? Is this what the north remembers? Is this what Bran sees at the Heart of Winter? This all fits in with the numerous references to the magic of of king's blood. The northern clansmen snowed in with Stannis point out that he must sacrificed to the old gods to stop the snows.

Maybe it's just the Night's King that was a Stark and not Coldhands. If so, i wonder why Lord Ryswell isn't listed as a viable theory on asoiaf wiki

Will it be Rickon or will it be Bran that is sacrificed? Is that why the Children of the Forest were looking for him to begin with?

CH is not necessarily a Stark.
CH is not necessarily the NK.
We do not know who CH is or isn't. They are all just theories.

It's just the Night's King that is suggested as a Stark by Old Nan.
It's probably not on the wiki because I don't think it's really been discussed. People seem to focus on the Night's King and forget about the other obscure stories from the Nightfort.

Now that just FEELS like JR Martin.

There's a theory that Theon will be sacrificed at a heart tree in order to resurrect Jon. He does have king's blood, and the whole "waking the dragon from stone" might be metaphorical to Jon's rebirth. Although, I don't know how the "stone" would come into play nor do I know how he would be resurrected
I know most people think Mel will resurrect him, but I want that bitch to stay as far away from Jon as possible. I don't want to see undead Jon
Btw, I like your CH is Lord Ryswell theory where he shares his sons watch forever.

quote:
SPOILER FROM TWOW GIFT CHAPTER
"Then do the deed yourself, Your Grace." The chill in Asha's voice made Theon shiver in his chains. "Take him out across the lake to the islet where the weirwood grows, and strike his head off with that sorcerous sword you bear. That is how Eddard Stark would have done it. Theon slew Lord Eddard's sons. Give him to Lord Eddard's gods. The old gods of the north. Give him to the tree."
And suddenly there came a wild thumping, as the maester's ravens hopped and flapped inside their cages, their black feathers flying as they beat against the bars with loud and raucous caws. "The tree," one squawked, "the tree, the tree," whilst the second screamed only, "Theon, Theon, Theon."

we're all trying to figure this damn book out
Posted on 4/16/13 at 2:27 pm to CE Tiger
They made a pretty big deal of Jojen being able to for see something tragic for himself on this journey north. But I kind of think with that buildup it's something we will get to see in real time and not an "oh, by the way Bran, you've been eating Jojen smoothies" . At least I hope so.
