The Tennessee Titans selected Liberty QB Malik Willis with the 86th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft last weekend. It could be a really nice pick for them looking down the road, however, current Titans QB Ryan Tannehill doesn't seemed too thrilled about it. On Tuesday, he spoke to the media and made it clear he will not be mentoring Willis...

Maybe it's because he was never told they were picking a QB...

After watching against the Bengals maybe it is for the best.

I know what these guys mean, but it always sounds bitter and defensive. Why not just say it's better for the coaches to to help him progress.

It's a tough question if you are not prepared for it. He simply could have said a healthy QB competition pushes both be to be better. I hope I push him to be the best he can be and, likewise, he pushes me to be better and we go out and win on game day!

You’re a 33 year old qb. If you’re that worried about a rookie from Liberty, we’ll, that’s all anyone needs to know about you.

Willis will definitely learn what not to do.

There are worse things than not being mentored by Ryan T.

Nice headline Larry! That's NOT what he said. Maybe there is hope for you! Maybe you CAN be real media!

Wow. Tannehill sounds like a complete team player. The team does not have to inform you of their plans in the draft. You sound as if you know you are going to have some real competition in camp, and you don’t like it.

And he doesn't have to "mentor". Coaches coach and players play.

“Coaches coach and players play.” Eh, not on championship teams. Not a fan of that blanket statement. With that said, it’s understandable that Tanny doesn’t want to be his potential replacement’s mentor. It’s essentially a business and Tanny getting beaten out could be the end of his career. So I’m not faulting him for going about his business. The only issue he has is how he comes across to his current team and his future landing spots. It could hurt him in the long run. But it’s his choice no doubt.

The only people obsessed with winning are the fans and a few players. This is a business.

Glad Alex Smith wasn't like that with Mahomes.

Didn’t Favre say the same thing about Rodgers? Worked out ok for Rodgers in the end. Willis will survive not “being mentored” by RT.

It's not his job to mentor Willis. This isn't a difficult concept.

Well, I see his point- why mentor someone the team is planning in all likelihood to take your job!

Ryan Tannehill is the epitome of a middle of the road quarterback. He’s not that great and not that bad. He definitely seems like a selfish prick right here though. I’m not a fan of his statement, here.
