FOX Sports Releases Statement After Skip Bayless’ Controversial Dak Prescott Comments
© Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports
FOX Sports released a statement in response to Skip Bayless’ controversial comments on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. Per The Spun...
quote:

Bayless turned heads Thursday morning when discussing Prescott. The Cowboys quarterback recently revealed he’s been battling depression. He also discussed his brother, Jace, who died by suicide earlier this year.

Bayless questioned if Prescott’s capable of leading “America’s Team” while battling depression, or even simply revealing he has depression. Naturally, his tone-deaf comments have been met with heavy criticism. The comments simply reflect the outdated perspective of mental health issues and what those who deal with them are capable of.

He is paid to be a contrarian. Rarely is he right, and he only believes what he says occasionally.

Dak introduced it in into the public. It is not different than having you best employee dealing and wondering if they can handle the stress.

Well you certainly cannot give an opinion on a show based on giving your opinion.

what's wrong with what he said? Depression, if severe enough, can be debilitating. It's a fair concern, when he's seeking 10s of millions of dollars every year to do a job. And yes, I have some personal experience with this - not me, but immediate family members.

Playing football increases your odds of CTE, which causes depression. What is the surprise that a football player may be suffering mental instability? They know the risk, but risk it all for the big paychecks.

Skip Bayless sucks, but not necessarily for these comments. He was respectful while saying he disagreed with something, no need for a formal apologetic statement from the network. He could have said it a little differently, but so what. You can bet your arse Jerry Jones & Mike McCarthy are wondering the same thing, "If this guy is battling depression from covid to where he couldn't workout, can we really give him a $40M contract?" That's not say Cowboys or SKip don't want him to get whatever help he needs, just can he do this job for this money with this going on in his own head

it's the culture we live in today. i'm not a fan of Bayless but free speech is no longer acceptable. the left has bastardized another right we once had. if you are a Democrat/liberal/commie making a controversial statement the media will spin it as though it was the new norm.

DALSU it is completely political. The left has neutered the country to the point where everyone is hypersensitive to everything that is said. 20 years ago these comments would not have even registered.
