Here's Why The BIG 10 Suddenly Changed Its Mind About Canceling Football
© Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports
On Monday, ESPN’s Heather Dinich reported that a heart condition called myocarditis was found in at least five BIG 10 athletes, along with a handful of athletes from other conferences. Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle. It can affect a heart’s electrical system, reducing the heart’s ability to pump and cause rapid/abnormal heart rhythms...

This crap isn't due to Covid. Get off all the steroids, juice, whatever, and just train hard. Enough of the scare tactics.

Thanks Democrats! Worthless POS!

The liberals must have an encyclopedia of excuses to keep us shut down. You can't guess the next one when everything before it comes to a halt. Suddenly we have a heart problem from the china virus. Next it may be hemorrhoids.

Easy to test to see if these 5 have Covid antibodies. If not, it definitely was not caused by Covid.

The common cold can also cause myocarditis but you don't hear about them canceling football during cold/flu season. Herpes simplex or cold sores can also cause myocarditis. This is such BS.

Test for the condition, and sit-out the guys who have it.

So can the other Viruses. That’s a rap thanks for coming out glad I could help.

Absurdity on an astounding scale. ESPN is a liberal propaganda machine (ie. Caitlyn Jenner winning the Arthur Ashe Courage Award). These are the people trying to dictate the agenda along with the uber liberal academic elite of these marxist teaching universities. They along with China want Trump gone, regardless of how many people starve to death or go broke. They just want complete misery for everyone so people will vote Democrat. I am getting the feeling that this is going to backfire spectacularly.

Sorry, do you think ESPN is the entity making the decision on football? Wouldn't they announce this for the acc and sec also, given those leagues' TV ties to the network? Do you understand how ridiculous your first sentence sounds in the context of dozens of publications reporting the same news as ESPN?

Sorry, 2nd sentence. Your 3rd sentence is stupid for other reasons.

2020 the year of FEAR, DIVISION, and RADICAL change.

Fear and division have been here since this country's existence and yes it's time for radical change that treats all people equally. Don't you agree?

I agree. Who is not being treated equally? I want to start voicing support for them.

I wonder if the Chinese Flu True Believers on here have finally given up trying to maintain the facade that this "pandemic" response has been a political farce since the beginning?

If you needed any proof that ESPN has a political agenda.... This is a condition caused by the common cold, but "based on limited studies and anecdotal evidence" ESPN claims that this disproportionately increased by COVID.
Reply16 months
This probably has more to do with money. Ad sales are down all across the board. Right now is not a good time to be paying million in guaranteed dollars to conferences.

How many college athletes per year typically get this condition? If it's more than 5, you might have a point; but since apparently fewer than 200,000 people in the US get it per year, and a hell of a lot more people get colds, you probably don't. Also, acting like ESPN is the only organization reporting this is willfully stupid. Every article I've read today, including ESPN's, mentions limitations of the data and the need for more thorough studies. I wonder if a for-profit organization thought maybe they could be sued if they let people play without doing more research.

Liberal politics!! All they want is for President Trump to fail !! And they do not care who gets crushed in the process.

It didn't take much for him to fail.
