I always liked the way Mark McGuire would politely, gently, almost delicately let the bat fall to the dirt before the hop and a skip trot around the horn. Plus, MLB was never better than when roids were required.

That douche nozzle batter appears to be playing at a community college, with an average starting salary out of school at $27k, and end of career salary at $41k, so douche nozzle all you want. You'll still be in a trailer park.

Yea he should get tossed after that. I'm all about getting on umps when they make the game about them, but this douche nozzle batter made that 500% about him. Can him. Teach him a lesson.

the bat was thrown directly at his own dugout. Not a problem.

I wouldn't have let it go but I'd have let him off with a warning probably. Throwing a bat 20 feet in the air isn't necessary. There's a line of having fun and acting like this.
Thing is if he hadn't been ejected the pitcher was gonna earhole him on his next at bat anyway and now you have a whole different problem.

Based on the exaggerated toss, and the headband he was wearing, batter looks like a huge douche - Guilty!

Since it was to his own bench, I would've given a warning. But it was pretty high and dramatic.

looks like he was throwing the bat back to the teams dugout to me. not a egregious foul and shouldn't have been an ejection.

Agree. Essentially celebrating with his team. He didn't even look toward the opponent. No taunting or anything. I'm usually old school on this stuff but umps and baseball need to get over this. It's not an issue.

You can't throw a bat. It's a safety issue. He's getting tossed regardless of where he throws it.
