This New Orleans family celebrated their son's life by having doing what he loved at his wake...

Per WGNO...
quote:

Renard Matthews was killed in New Orleans 2 weeks ago. He was a young 18 years old, and while the tragedy of losing him so young weighs heavy on his family, they chose to have his body prepared for Sunday afternoon’s wake in a way that they want to remember him.

At the Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home in Treme, Matthews was sitting in a chair, video game controller in hand, surrounded by his favorite snacks, and his beloved Boston Celtics on the television screen.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear this was an April Fools article. Did they bury him lie that?

different strokes, different folks. in 05 while at an open casket funeral for a very close relative a women of color rolled up and attempted to take a selfie. Just don't get some people's thought process.

At what point does a corpse go from Gumby to Robocop? Honest question....curious how a person would be placed in a coffin for the burial ceremony.

How are the morticians gonna straighten out those legs to get him in a coffin? Rigor Mortis is a hard, terrible thing.

It's weird enough that his family did this even weirder that they took pics. I'm getting a Weekend at Bernie's vibe.

The way a family grieves the loss of a son should in no way be a point of judgment for all of you. RIP sir.

Somebody start a gofundme to buy that young man a season ticket to the Celtics. One plane ticket should do, since he can just sit there between games.
