It was surprising when LeBron James showed up to his Finals Game 4 postgame presser with a cast on his right hand, especially because he was doing things like this prior to the game...

But apparently the reason it was so dramatic was because the info on his injury had leaked. Per USA Today...
quote:

The assertion from James’ side, however, is that he only wore the cast because he had already been told that the news was out.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, James — who was briefed on the latest media reports shortly before coming to the podium — would not have worn the cast if his injury had not already been reported. His teammates and coaches all knew what had happened, and it’s a wonder how it didn’t come out sooner. It’s also unclear if James or his associates would have shared the news at a later time, but there were no plans to pull the curtain back that night. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
I can't with you, LeBron. I can't. Pick a new team and let's go.

I want to see the x-ray. Otherwise, I'm the Rosses and I want to see George Costanza's house in the Hamptons and his horse named Prickly Pete. "You want to get nuts? LET'S GET NUTS!!"

Is there any NBA requirement that injuries be publicized before games to help betters make better decisions?

Anybody who has ever broken a bone, no matter how small a fracture, can tell you about the swelling. He aint swole. If the swelling doesn't exist, you must cease and desist, about your uninjured hand or wrist, before the fans get pissed, when you leave you won't be missed.

I'm definitely not throwing alley-oops to myself off of the backboard to violently slam the ball with my broken hand.

how many outside shots did Lebron take after game 1? This should be the tale tale...in terms of comparison of shot selection When I watched game 3, I remember thinking "why isn't he taking any 3's? or mid-range jumpers? He also had an airball at one point. I think it's safe to say he hurt himself at somepoint, he wasn't playing the same as he did in game 1

Probably broke it hitting those white supremacist vandals that tagged the gate at his house.

You people are idiots. LeBron haters are the worst. The media reports and sensationalizes something and makes a big deal out of it. And then a player at a Podium is forced to answer questions about it. It's clear that this would not even have been brought up if it were not for the media. Splash reporting has you puppets dancing on a string. Truth is he doesn't need an excuse. He got that pathetic roster to the finals and lost to the best team ever created. No shame in that

I'm a LeBron hater and I agree with what you said... does that make me the worst too? Does that also make you the worst? Or am I cool because I side with your comment?

He doesn't need an excuse but you're happy to make up plenty of them on his behalf.

His 2K19 stats will have a 99 in Excuse Making. Only Peyton Manning has achieved the unicorn 100 in that category.

Except that he didn't actually make any excuse in this case or previously. But don't let reality get in the way of your amusing story...
