The Advocate is reporting that LSU Football season tickets are expected to increase beginning in the 2024 season if the SEC implements a nine-game schedule with Texas and Oklahoma joining the league.
quote:

The athletic department has proposed raising most seats by $50 per season ticket, with some up to $125, according to the LSU board of supervisors meeting agenda posted Thursday.

Prorated per game ticket prices would rise from $7.14 to $17.86, depending on the location of the seat.

In the lower bowl and premium areas of Tiger Stadium, season tickets would cost an extra $25 if the SEC adds a ninth conference game. LSU athletics is also proposing an increase in student ticket prices and season-long parking passes.

The department estimated it would make an additional $5.12 million in revenue based upon past attendance. LSU’s board of supervisors must approve the changes at its meeting Friday.

And stop playing SWAC teams. Be the first to play an all power 5 schedule.

Had to come back to this out of annoyance. So, we're season tickets holders, lower level, sidelines. In addition to the cost of the tickets themselves, we have to "donate" $1950 a year to the Tradition Fund to get those seats. Season tickets are well over $3,000 a year. In return, we get teams like Grambling, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Southern, New Mexico, McNeese, etc. Two of those home games suck, every year, guaranteed. I'm really fricken irked about this.

I would rather save my hard-earned money and watch LSU football games from the comfort of my home. Doesn’t LSU make millions from tv broadcasts? If so, then why is there a need for increased ticket prices?

Of course no mention of only having 6 or 7 home games in Tiger Stadium every other year if SEC goes to a 9 game schedule (5 SEC road games every other year). That's when I will stop buying season tickets after 45 years.

Smart, so when opposing fans takeover the stadium they will be directly funding LSU, even if they do leave with a win

We never have to worry about Mizzou fans taking over anything.

Just like the rest of the world, doing what they can to get the middle class out and get business and people with money in. Tailgating is shite now with all the parking passes and now the atmosphere will be gone within the next 10 years. We living on legacy at this point.

Product on the field and stadium experience better improve. Zero internet, crap concessions and long traffic lines don’t help the mindset of the average attendee.

Show your disatification by hitting wear it hurts. A half empty stadium of people paying more for a bad product (not talking about the team) sends a message.

I don’t think not showing up to the games is the appropriate action. We need fans in the stands for player morale, and recruiting environment.

Now if we could make that happen on election day...we'd really be making progress. How legit is your gov when no one shows up to vote for it?
