Did Les Miles Take A Jab At Ed Orgeron & His Patience In Radio Interview?
Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports
Prior to LSU’s April spring game, head coach Ed Orgeron talked about patience, especially in relation to the team's offense. Per The Advocate...
quote:

“We don’t have the whole offense in. This thing is going to go throughout the summer, throughout camp,” the coach said. “We want to look good next Saturday. I want the quarterbacks to look good. We want to throw the ball. Want all that to happen. I believe some of that is going to happen, but we’re not there yet. I ask the fans to be patient. We’re not where we need to be, but we’re going to get there.”
While on The Josh Innes Show this past week, former head coach Les Miles referenced that "patience", which kind of came off like a jab at Coach O...
quote:

“I never accepted the feeling of, ‘Hey, you need to have patience.’ When you say you need to have patience aren’t you just really saying to your team you’re not good enough,” Miles said. “Because I want you to know something, I never took the field with the Tigers where I didn’t think I wasn’t going to absolutely kick somebody’s tail … Period … I never asked, ‘Hey, give me a break here.’”

[…]

“Certain people need to have a safety net,” Miles went on to say, unprompted, in the interview. “If you need a safety net you need not coach for the Tigers because the Tigers are your safety net. They are the winningest, toughest, most committed group of men that I have been around.”

Let's see...Les is still unemployed. He is a college football head coach who has been out of a job for 2 years now and he has the gall to talk about another coach who is coaching, by the way. Yes, Les is a piece of work. He should get an Oscar for his portrayal of a head coach at LSU during his final 3 years....Can you say: DOWNWARD SPIRAL!

I would prefer Miles to take the high road, especially since I named my first born kid 'Les'

Les DGAF about public perception and to some extent, this led to his termination. CEO GAF about public perception, and the outcome is TBD. We'll know more in a season or 2.

Les had his faults, sure, but at least he ran a competent program. Orgeron is a great defensive line coach, he just isn't anywhere close to a being a good head coach. He definitely shouldn't be running what should be a top 10 program nationally. LSU will be fringe top 10 in the SEC.

Fans had the patience..... Alleva had the patience and paid Miles handsomely.........Miles never did put in the balanced passing attack he promised every year......that’s the reason he gone

We waited 12 years for Miles to put his offense in and it never happened.

"“We want to look good next Saturday.” Wasn't he talking about the spring game? If so, what the hell is wrong with what he said? I am no fan of O but detest that fricktard mouthing off and taking shots publicly. I am cautiously optimistic for the season and hope O does indeed kick arse.

I’d be salty too if I was fired for somebody who to this point looks much worse.

:missmeyetgif: Les is a god. Alleva and F'King should be burned in effigy for running off that man --- a proven winner and a true competitor --- and failing to even hire someone equal much less better. At this point, if Orgeron wins fewer than 9 this year give the job to Aranda and give him as much time as it takes. He'll figure it out soon enough...

100% agree with Les. Wasn't the whole premise of hiring Ed Orgeron is that there was already enough talent on the team to win NOW and all Ed O had to do was to be the CEO and recruit? Where has that gotten LSU -- a loss to Troy and we scored 10 against Alabama. Lunacy.

To be fair, Ed o played Alabama better than Les did. 10-0 loss and 21-10 loss. We actually beat the hell out of them last year but didn’t make the plays

Someone who is getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to NOT coach ANYWHERE should STFU and enjoy the free, undeserved payday. Why put negative publicity on a program you supposedly dearly love? My allegiance is to LSU before any coach but it does appear that one coach has a job ....the other not so much.

So because he's not coaching anymore he has to keep his mouth shut? Not usually how those things work my dude

I agree it really shows Miles true character. He is a selfish stubborn dumb m************. And those traits cost him the game against Alabama. So suck it up less

He is still on the payroll and should show a little more respect than to go blasting current coaching staff. He WAS terminated for being obstinate and incompetence. I seriously doubt he will ever coach at major program ever again.

Just go away Les. Let Cookie Monster fix what you broke. We will bring you back every so often on homecoming night to pump up the crowd. Until then, sit quietly and enjoy the show.
