Wisconsin defensive back D’Cota Dixon, who was on the receiving end of a late hit from Josh Boutte, said he wishes the LSU's offensive lineman wasn't suspended and bashed in the media for his actions in the game.

Boutte was ejected following the late hit and will serve a one-game suspension, forcing the senior guard to sit out against Jacksonville State this weekend. Per TheZone.com:
quote:

I wish he wasn’t suspended, in all honesty,” Dixon told The Zone. “And I wish people wouldn’t bash him so much in the media. People have no idea what it’s like to be in a situation like that — a game-time situation.

“People handle their frustrations differently. Obviously, I wouldn’t handle mine like that, but it’s OK. You live to fight another day. I was OK. He’s OK.”
Dixon said that Boutte seemed real concerned about the situation when he called him this week to apologize and see if he was ok.
quote:

“It’s OK. We actually ended up praying together. I got his number. He got my number. We actually kind of built a little friendship. It was very cool.”
Glad this had a good ending. Now time to move on.

I'm sure he will. That probably hurt the feelings of a lot of people. I know I was looking for a Safe Space after witnessing that barbaric display of violence....damn you foo'sball!!

Apparently he made a private, earnest apology. That is worth a lot more in my book then some press-release, phoney public apology.

Yeah frick you media, if this is a bama player or OhioState or USC or Michigan, you know the darling teams then it would of been a heads up play on his part bc the guy WAS running with the ball in hand. He didn't hit him in the back. It's why I never pay any attention to the media and I hope it woke up Boutte and LSU and they play with some confidence and passion the rest of the year. It's just like when Gresse said oh Adams just missed that tackle when he actually slipped and then said I guess he slipped when obviously he did. Then when a wisky player slipped LSU was lucky he slipped. Lmao frick the media

Very cool of both kids. But actions are punished not outcomes. One game suspension and everyone moves on. Next.

Classy move by him but the hit was foolish and dangerous. He needed to be suspended.

As he was.

Suspended, yes, and maybe even 3-4 games, but anybody that was talking about kicking him off the team and/or out of school is ignorant.

I have lots of respect for that team. They're very business like on and off the field. Good luck the rest of the season, Badgers!

And all these clowns were calling for this kid to be suspended the whole season, kicked off the team, never allowed to play NCAAF again. Idiots! The dude he hit had no problem with it so why did all of you. Until your in that same situation you have no room to talk or pass judgement.
