LSU announced Friday night the hire of Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda for the same job with the Tigers. Per LSUSports.net:

In three years as the Wisconsin defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach, Aranda coached a Badger defense that combined to rank among the top 5 in the nation in the four major defensive categories – scoring, total yards, passing yards and rushing yards.

Let's just hope Les Miles stay out of the way. Still extremely worried about the offense, because of Les.

I like it! Looks like CLM hired an "up and comer" who's career is on an upward trajectory instead of recycling someone who's career is on a downward or horizontal path. I don't think CLM makes this kind of hire w/o the recent scare to his job security.

Oh this is a good way to bring in the new year.

This is going to be a huge opportunity for both LSU and Coach Aranda.
