The question was brought up during the topic of Georgia QB Jacob Eason who is expected to transfer

Four-star LSU quarterbacks Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse will hopefully elevate the Tigers passing game over the next couple of years.

We can’t recruit top quarterbacks because well Tony, maybe it’s because we have no one on our staff that inspires the recruits confidence that they will be properly developed.

We’ve all been saying it for 10 years now.

I blame Ryan Perrilloux.... due to his actions that got him kicked off the team, we were stuck with the Andrew Hatch / Jerrett Lee experiment in 2008 and just never recovered. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Damn , I think you're right

Wait, so a program loses one 5 star QB and it ruins our QB situation for the next 10+ years ???
user avatar

I think what he was meaning basically RP was supposed to lead us back to a NC all the chips were in place but Ryann was too " hood" and after that happened we've been stuck in mediocrity at the quarterback position except for one good year with Mett

Sad but true, the lack of great play at QB has kept us out contention since 07, hopefully its a new era at that position with SE.

We’ve been saying this for every OC hired. Smh. We can only hope...

We weren't in contention in 2011? News to me.

eugene1928LSU75 months
You are right WITNESS23,my bad. 2011 probably the best LSU team ever and we won with less than mediocre play at QB, especially the last 3/4 games. The NC loss, no real game plan from CLM and zero production at QB did us in, again.

That is literally the first intelligent thing he has ever said.

Its because our high schools do not produce an abundance of Qb talent, Ruben Randle played Qb his senior season, what does that tell you.

LaRon Landry was a HS QB also.

I agree... even though I don’t follow too much high school football, the few games that I do go to I only see like 5 passes the whole game

I hope the competition is even going into camp. Myles was ok but looked nervous. I seen Lowell in HS. This kid if givin the shot will be great

O seems intent on running a pro style offense and if so, Lowell won’t see the field much. Sorry but he’s got gonna be interested in just playing in “special packages” or whatever O wants to call it

Coaches were crazy not giving either of these guys more playing time this year. Etling was average at best, but we needed to get someone ready for next year and we did not give them any time in the saddle under conference play pressure.

No doubt that Narcisse is a talent but can he have the physical toughness to sustain week after week in the SEC? Kid was hurt most of his high school career. Brennan, on the other hand offers the type of offense that we used to see at LSU before Miles came and preferred the running game. An accurate qb with great receivers can move the ball when we have to and it seems that Coach O is trying to establish some balance. Geaux Tigers!

Narcisse is gonna be The Man that becomes the Surprise beast. Witnessed it this past month at bowl practice. Him and Brennan will make a good duo. Stinks out OL could not return to form but they could be really good. Here is to Optimism - it is only football after all.

Looking forward to seeing both Brennan and Narcisse. We have everything we need to be successful. CEH and Brossette at rb will also do well.

I think I can solve the QB situation, offer Tua's litter brother a scholarship. Tua is a freshman QB that won the bama championship for the tide. His little brother has a Canon for an arm and is right handed. If the little brother is anything like the older brother, I see a championship coming near you for the tigers that's if the Lsu coaches know how to develop QB's. I can't spell their last name already forgot it. Look up that QB and you can find out everything what ya need to know : ) just a thought

Narcisse needs to given a chance to show what he can do. Dude was lighting it up as a sophomore against top competition. Now he’s 6’3” 230 and solid as a rock. Gotta give him s chance or he’s gonna bolt for another program who will.

Wouldn't mind having Eason. But he will either go to Miami or back to the west coast.

One thing is for sure, the dual threat QB who can throw well, is essential in the Big Game. Think Bama/Georgia. The top teams run the ball; and Nick is on top, with others. They get the pick of the litter...and in big games...that is edge for a win. How do we get the best...gotta get to the top to do it. Chicken or the egg scenario.

Watch O back his way into Brennan (Miles recruit) or Eason and one of them save his job.
user avatar
jpbmill75 months
Eason is going to Washington so that's a no
user avatar
eugene1928LSU75 months
That would be nice if the QB saves all the coaches jobs, means we are winning. Great team coming back next year, with the main questions being QB (again) and for the first time in a long time RB's. To beat the gumps you have to plan on scoring 30 points, some we haven't done on them in YEARS. SE put up zero, that won't get it done against anybody.
user avatar
Spankum75 months
First, O has plenty of job security at this point...he is very early in his contract. Second, you talk as if it would be a bad thing if it would be a bad thing if one of these quarterbacks are successful....sounds like you may be a "fan" of the wrong program...

Why would an elite QB come to a university where they hand the ball off every play? If I'm trying to go to the NFL I'm going to a school that will maximize my talents and unfortunately LSU doesn't do that. But if we ever do!!!! Also we have developed zero QB's in how many years? We have had the talent but no coaching. Wasn't BrandOn Harris #2 right behind Deshaun Watson?

I mean he does have a point. I’ve been saying that for years. Why would an elite qb come to LSU just to hand the ball off? They want to go put up big numbers at other places that let them throw.
user avatar
BlackPot75 months
Double edged sword here. We hand it off because our qb's aren't producing like we would like. Our qb's aren't producing because we utilize the run more often in our offensive scheme.
