ESPN's Adam Rittenberg is reporting that Oregon could be interested in LSU offensive analyst Jorge Munoz for the open OC job under coach Mario Cristobal.

Munoz, a native of San Diego, California, has been on LSU's staff for the last two seasons and has played a big role in the development of quarterback Joe Burrow.

Prior to arriving at LSU, Munoz spent 10 years at Louisiana-Lafayette where he coached wide receivers and quarterbacks and served as the offensive coordinator in 2016.

Oregon's previous offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo left the staff this offseason to become the head coach at UNLV.

We have been extremely lucky to have him this year as an analyst. Joe wanted to make sure he was there in New York for the Heisman ceremony, that should tell you all you need to know to how good of analyst he is.

Crazy to think that major universities are trying to poach offensive analysis from LSU to be there OC. If you had told me this three years ago I would have thought you were out of your mind. Everyone wants the secret sauce to this offense.

I mean, he has been an oc before

Ensminger needs to become one of those ‘Emeritus’ coaches - semi retired. Need to make room for these young guns before they all bolt.

I have a feeling this was in the works even before this season started. Remember when he was named OC Orgeron had to basically beg him to do it?

Dont be surprised if Ensminger retires after this season, especially now after the unfortunate family loss.

Can't lie, I've never heard of Mr. Munoz. Just another unsung hero of this incredible season.

Is this the position for sean salisbury ?

That is fantastic for Munoz. You would hate to lose this guy but its an opportunity that he can not pass up. Honestly if you could have Co-O-Coordinators with Brady and Munoz....LSU might never lose again!

You're delusional. Munoz couldn't even crack an OC position with ULL. Brady don't need this guy to assist with anything. Why didn't Munoz set the offense on fire prior to this year?

I was expecting it to be either Paige Sparinak or Johnny Manziel’s sister.

If he is an analyst he could not coach on field. He must be working with Joe in film room. That doesn't seem like someone that can't be replaced. And good for Munoz. This means coach O is putting together a strong program if other schools are raiding our analyst.

Agreed. If someone wants an analyst for their OC, that means we are really deep...

This is a shockingling good sign, in fact - a P5 team with playoff aspirations is hiring one of our analysts - not as an analyst or a position coach, but OC - in fact, Oregon OC is one of the premier assistant coaching positions in college football, certainly outside of the SEC.

Wasn't he there when Joe won the Heisman? I feel like I heard his name

Joe credited Munoz with LSU’s 3rd down success this year. Said he preps him each week for defensive looks/blitzes. Breaks it down to 1-2 things to read and allows him to get the ball where it needs to go, quick.

If true that's important. I wonder why he was an analyst for 2 years instead of on the field

How many others also read it as Orgeron - not Oregon - at first glance...

Sorry but Munoz was on the offensive staff the last few years and look at those offensive results. They were average at best. Its all about Joe Brady.....let Munoz walk and we still roll

2 seasons, not few. And our offenses set records. Munoz is a good coach. Can’t keep them all:

dammit - my blurry vision and dyslexia has made me read that as "ORGERON ---- making me think Ensminger was leaving and Brady not being the replacement. Wasn't til I enlarged it and saw the O on the image that i read it correctly - sucks to get old.
