Earlier this week, it was reported that LSU was targeting Missouri defensive line coach Kevin Peoples to join Brian Kelly's defensive staff.

On Friday, ESPN's Pete Thamel revealed that Kelly is hiring Peoples as an assistant coach under new defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

Peoples spent the past two seasons as Missouri's defensive line coach, working with the edge position. His role at LSU will likely be the same, with Bo Davis working with the interior lineman.

Prior to his time in Columbia, Peoples was the defensive line coach at Indiana for two seasons and coached at Tulane for four seasons before that.

Imagine if he’d hired this Defensive staff two years ago. This past season would have been completely different.

Imagine me knowing what I know now about this defensive staff? For one he couldn't get Bo Davis before, and he did try. Second, did you even know Peoples? Third, if he had hired Baker to be his DL coach, this board would have had a Meltdown and all you clowns would have went crazy.

First, he seemed to try to blackmail for a raise each year of the last few years at LSU. Second, IMO, his recruiting dropped out dramatically including the secondary. Why do you think LSU had to go so much to the transfer portal for secondary guys...because Raymond didn't restock the unit. His recruiting dropped out dramatically.

This is a tired narrative and not based in fact.

I've never seen anyone hire 2 ringers on D line.

I read a good article on sports illustrated but I need more info. How can you be so successful if you don’t have the players. Any idea if they will bring in any good linemen? I think the talent was there this year but the coaching lacked. Imagine if Wingo and smith were coming back.

I ran across an article, I think on CBS, but someone graded all the players, I'm guessing they did this to every team.

Most all of our team was in the 70's, C, average. It was worse than I had expected.

I read that they are thinking of converting Ramos and Aaron Anderson to interior d linemen. They figure we are covered.

So if people's coaches outside Edge/jack position...is Davis just coaching the 2 DL who are left. Seems like you could use that spot for a True ST coach. Bring back McMahon as ST has cost LSU 2 or 3 losses in the past 2 years, numerous boneheaded plays and no return game.

I've been saying get McMahon back since BK got here.

You can have 10 assistant coaches. What I might expect
Sloan - QB coach/co-OC
Hankton - WR coach/co-OC
Davis - OL coach
??? - TE/ST coach
Wilson - RB coach
Baker - DC/LB coach
Bo Davis - DT coach
Peoples - DE/EDGE coach
??? - S coach
??? - CB coach

I guess with all these new hires, it's less likely CBK moving back north.
