Kids see people mob WalMart and steal whatever they want and receive ZERO punishment. It’s no wonder they think it’s ok for them to do it, too. The “community”, and entire nation as a whole, has lost ALL morality, principle, integrity, and honest introspection. Now, it all is consumed with nothing but self-worship and pride....
...and we wonder why our kids do the crap they do, with no remorse or guilt.

Maybe he thought he was in Dallas or another of the many states where you won't be prosecuted for theft.
"Dallas County Criminal District Attorney John Creuzot, who campaigned on criminal justice reform, announced he no longer plans to prosecute certain low-level crimes."
"He also said his office will no longer prosecute theft cases involving personal items worth less than $750, unless evidence shows it was for economic gain."

The post above is the underlying reason why this stuff happens. Acquiescing to the "new normal" and excusing it away as an innocent act. Did he really not know it was illegal? The example set by certain special interest groups over the summer who legitimizing this stuff are mainly to blame.

Nail on the head, tigerpawl. The problem isn’t kids doing stupid things... the problem is their wrong actions being legitimized and encouraged by the politicians, media, their own parents and community. It’s a symbol of the fundamental destruction of our moral psyche.

Pfft. If this was Cali, no arrest would be made. He must be reading the west coast news.

You nailed it. In CA, they won't attempt to arrest anyone who shoplifts. Last time I went into a Walgreens in San Francisco, there were peeps stuffing things into their pockets like it belonged to them.

I don't know anything about this but do know Wal Mart. My longtime GF was shopping at our local Wal Mart. Had recently had surgery probably taking pain meds. Put a gift for me in bottom of buggy forgot while checking out. Caught it at the door. They wouldn't let her pay, had her arrested. This girl had never done anything wrong one traffic ticket in my vehicle. The arresting officer went to the judge and got it thrown out but of course small town everyone knows about it. I hate that company.

Actually wouldn’t have stopped her until she passed the last register and entered the vestibule. Mgt and security are very careful because of bad stops that lead to lawsuits and discharges.
