Shea Dixon has reported that LSU freshman offensive tackle Lance Heard did not travel with the team to Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Wisconsin.

Heard, a former five-star tackle from Monroe, La., appeared in all 12 games for the Tigers this season and made one start at right tackle when Emery Jones Jr. was out with an injury.

Heard was very adamant when he signed with the Tigers last December that he was coming to play left tackle, a spot already held down by Will Campbell.

Campbell and Jones Jr. have locked down both tackle spots since they arrived as true freshmen in 2022. The logjam might be a potential issue for Heard. Stay tuned.

Going to!!! I believe it already has. Some of these kids are millionaires before they step on campus.

Nothing about why he's not traveling with the team to the bowl, and everyone assumes he's a primadonna looking to leave. Maybe there's another explanation.

NFL teams would be more impressed with someone that can play anywhere on the OL. Show them your versatility youngster.

His "confidence" was more likely a sense of entitlement. Considering he hasn't entered the transfer portal yet, you can bet the farm another school is aware of his comments and has been tampering with him in order to sway him their way.

What could go wrong? giving 18 to 22 year olds the option to leave when thigs dont go their way and add in paying them more to do it. The days of players waiting for their turn is done. Pretty soon i maybe be opting out of giving a shite about what a 18 to 22 year old does in football.

Screw these entitled assholes. Stop supporting their crap and enforce the same academic standards on these spoiled brats that you enforce on real students. None of these players represent their school, only themselves.

If you enforce the “same academic standards” on the football players, LSU would not be able to field a competitive team. They are not “real students.” They didn’t come to LSU play school. The vast majority of LSU football and basketball players couldn’t care less about “representing their school.” They are at LSU to try to maximize their financial futures through their athletic performance. Most will fail, but it is what it is, and it’s certainly not the 50s through the 80s any longer. Hell, it’s not even like the 90s. Those days are long gone. They play for the name on the back of the jersey not the front. LSU is no different than other major schools.

Played in all 12 games but can’t stand that he’s behind a future first round NFL draft pick and will start at LT in 2025

I love all the "fans" overreacting here. Could be something simple, could be he is being a brat. Either way we need to just wait and see.

Is he wants to play LT and he can't beat out the starting LT for two years, I say let him leave. In this NIL era, you can't stockpile talent for the future. Whoever comes in has to be ready to compete and willing to stay and learn. Nothing is getting handed to you other than those checks!!!

What a web we weave - college football is so stupid now. This kid should be made an example - let his arse go and dare anyone else to quit. Quitters are for life and must be culled

Well I for one don't want him to go elsewhere, so, maybe he is just battling the flu, and get well soon. If not, get your priorities in order and stay and work or take it to the highest bidder.

Man if he wants to leave then frick him honestly, Campbell is an all American and has that LT spot locked down. Your a college OL play somewhere else along the line, if Campbell or jones leaves early then you can play LT but until then earn that shite.
