Shea Dixon has reported that LSU freshman offensive tackle Lance Heard did not travel with the team to Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Wisconsin.

Heard, a former five-star tackle from Monroe, La., appeared in all 12 games for the Tigers this season and made one start at right tackle when Emery Jones Jr. was out with an injury.

Heard was very adamant when he signed with the Tigers last December that he was coming to play left tackle, a spot already held down by Will Campbell.

Campbell and Jones Jr. have locked down both tackle spots since they arrived as true freshmen in 2022. The logjam might be a potential issue for Heard. Stay tuned.

i guess i'm old school.......because if a player ever told a coach where or when he was playing, my high school coaches would have told that kid to sit the frick down and speak when spoken to.

Well, you are not playing left tackle so long as Will Campbell is there. You can either get good enough to move Emory Jones to right guard or you can go.

Maybe he can play at ULM or LA Tech. I’m starting to tire of theses college football drama queens. News Flash: Not all of you are gonna make the NFL. Get yourself a
Good degree.

He can pick ANY team he wants to transfer.

Georgia
Alabama
Usc
Mich
Etc.

He’s that good. Hopefully he comes back. You’ve got zero clue on why he’s not with team today.

"You’ve got zero clue on why he’s not with team today."

The most intelligent statement on this topic yet. CBK has made sure there are no leaks in his staff so nobody knows if it is a discipline issue, a player having health or family issues or something else. While Heard is a talented player, he was not without issues when he did get playing time. While he can go anywhere, coaches also don't have to play him if he does leave...nomatter what they promise

So fill us in Mr Insider. Or are you just an internet windbag?

Nothing about why he's not traveling with the team to the bowl, and everyone assumes he's a primadonna looking to leave. Maybe there's another explanation.

Maybe he saw all the OL talent coming in and that scared him off? Or there could be a logical explanation

Played in all 12 games but can’t stand that he’s behind a future first round NFL draft pick and will start at LT in 2025

Hopeful that he and his family are OK.

What could go wrong? giving 18 to 22 year olds the option to leave when thigs dont go their way and add in paying them more to do it. The days of players waiting for their turn is done. Pretty soon i maybe be opting out of giving a shite about what a 18 to 22 year old does in football.

"Oh, I've seen Will Campbell play. I played with Will Campbell. I'm playing left tackle."
Lol at unrealistic expectations.

Will is his classmate and friend from high school.., he was messing with him. He probably got a nil offer and wants LSU to match imo

Finally a level headed reaction. Like you said it’s a joke and Heard wants a better NIL deal. So pay the man. He is a future star.

Is he wants to play LT and he can't beat out the starting LT for two years, I say let him leave. In this NIL era, you can't stockpile talent for the future. Whoever comes in has to be ready to compete and willing to stay and learn. Nothing is getting handed to you other than those checks!!!

NFL teams would be more impressed with someone that can play anywhere on the OL. Show them your versatility youngster.
