LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda has turned down an offer from Texas A&M and will remain with the Tigers, according to Ross Dellenger with The Advocate.

Aranda has reportedly agreed to a new four-year contract worth $2.5 million annually.

Aranda is remaining at LSU after A&M's latest, last-ditch effort to yank him from Baton Rouge, agreeing to a new four-year contract that averages $2.5 million a year. Coach Ed confirmed the news in a tweet Wednesday night.

Did he return the money from the ND game when he shite the bed, and became 3rd and Chavis? The prevent usually "prevents" you from winning.

The defense played great, did the usual job of keeping us in the game. The unit keeps getting better and recruits will come to play for him. Aranda is the man

Key not being there makes my point. If your DE's can't get there(hard to do with a THREE MAN rush, then bring your corners. I know this, I can go out in the back yard and stand with a football(with no pressure) and eventually find someone open!!!! Don't care how many you drop back.

Maybe he will make enough to buy plenty of pants, because he shite his pants the 2nd half of the ND game. 3rd and Chavis still lives!!!

You guys fail to realize that a defensive unit can only do so much when a they are constantly on the field because the offense cant sustain drives and put points on the scoreboard.

Has nothing to do with it. Please!! 3 and 19 NO pressure. On both drives NO PRESSURE. Please spare on a one time "delayed blitz by White. Bring you corners up and come off the EDGE!!! Donte can get to the qb before anyone can block him!!! Did it all season. As B ear Bryant said.....the key to a good pass defense is pressuring the QB!!! Make excuses all you want....Aranda shite his pants.

maybe being without someone like Arden Key had something to do with it.

All the Aggies did was get some free real estate in our heads and bleed us for more cash...they never even really wanted him but all they had to do was announce they were going to steal another LSU coach and VOILA! - now almost doubled the guy’s salary...Maybe they all played us for fools???

Yeah, they are oaying a head coach 75 million dollars guaranteed to play around with LSU's head while he needs a staff. LSU spent 700k on a coach who deserves it and got him signed for 4 years. Thst's some wizardry by A&M alright. Man, some if you put X-Files to shame. Lol.

I hear that, Tiger Spray! I saw that last night and thought, “here goes more inaccurate reporting with no facts.” The media sources that falsely report such nonsense should be fined accordingly. They are such a waste of time.

Way to waste time on a coach you can't get, A&M. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest Jimbo's armpits.

As I said, LSU has deep pockets too. As for the “years to come” comments from Coach O, that’s not exactly accurate. Someone will come after Aranda after next season and LSU will have to pony up more cash to keep him. That’s just the landscape of sports these days. Multi year contracts are basically meaningless. Just renegotiate on an annual basis. That’s what they’re doing anyway. Aside from that, I knew Dave didn’t want to leave all the talent he will have next year for a reclamation project at A&M. Now let’s just mend fences with Canada and get a little continuity for a change! Next year could be very special!

I totally agree that this will be an annual occurrence but because of recruiting you can't can't advertise year to year contracts. This would definitely give opponents ammunition against LSU by telling recruits coaches will not be available next year

$10M to call a prevent defense in the late minutes of the game. What a waste.
