Look as an LSU fan and Nabers fan I’m Happy. As a private citizen who would like to visit New Olrleans again one day I feel these policies for carrying illegal weapons need to be stronger across the board.

It’s a pretty common condition in New Orleans though. Not just because it’s him.

specify carrying of illegal weapon

It's not an illegal weapon. It was illegally carried. Concealed. Reading is fundamental.

Was the weapon illegal or was carrying it illegal because he didn’t have a permit?

Concealed without a permit. Forfeit weapon. Walk. Seems fair and quite the MO for these types of charges.

Under the age of 21 he can’t possess a handgun, assuming it was a handgun

Even with a permit you still cannot have it at a parade.

It's going to go missing from Evidence.

Shouldn't need a permit to CC anyway. Should be unconstitutional for the state to seize his gun assuming he wasn't acting like an irresponsible jackass

The only permit he needs is the second amendment.

“The state of Louisiana does not prohibit the open carry of firearms in public. Therefore, it is legal in Louisiana without a permit for anyone at least 18 years old that is not prohibited from possessing a firearm. Some areas are off-limits, including parades and bars.”

He was not open carrying. He was concealing. It is NOT the same thing

Welcome to the South, where it’s really easy to get off any punishment if you commit a crime with a gun (just ask Brandon Miller)

simply having a gun shouldn't be a crime.

...say what?

Yep...I'm thinking...so the cops don't have the evidence and want him to go and try and get it for them so that he can be charged? Haha...

They forgot to simply list the weapons charge. That’s the part of the story that is the actual story. Vague weapons charge is vague.

Hmm. Depends on the gun but a good deal. Even fighting a misdemeanor can cost over $1200, that'll buy most handguns

Weird deal.
He'll stop and get another on the way home, so no worries.

Charges against Nabers will be dropped under the condition that he guarantees a victory in Tuscaloosa…
